Per IATA: "Passengers who have transited or have been in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China (PRC), Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or in the United Kingdom (excluding overseas territories outside of Europe), in the past 14 days are not allowed to enter and transit." and there are exceptions to this, such as US citizens, airline or ship crews, people with certain visa classes, students from certain countries, siblings under 21 yrs old of a US national, etc.
But if you're a French citizen, (so not needing a US visa,) and are coming from Africa--but not South Africa--and not transiting the countries above (whether Johannesburg OR Paris, etc.), you should be okay. Though I'm surprised Tanzania is not on that list, because they refuse to report any data, so who knows the status of things. I believe the burden to return you if denied access is on the airline, no? If you're not getting answers from government officialdom, try the airlines you're thinking of flying (not AF, LH, BA, etc.) as they SHOULD be the most up to date on the rules.
