If subsidiaries count as separate airlines, even though they operate with the main airlines' flight number, I get two additional six in a row:

3. YYZ-VCE TS 138 A310-300

1 KBP-SVO on VV (Aerosvit)
2 SVO-OMS on SU (Aeroflot)
(a train ride inbetween)
3 BAX-KJA on 5M (Sibaviatrans)
4 KJA-DME on 7B (KrasAir)
5 SVO-KBP on UN (Transaero)
There must have been something before an after, so there is a non-zero chance that the string is actually longer. I just don't have a way to figure it out.

Well I'm not the OP, but I don't see why a train ride in between couldn't count. Living several hundred miles from a major airport (LHR) means many in my list had train rides inbetween.
But more importantly, I'd love to know what types you flew in your list back then in 2000?
