Many years ago I remember reading this quotation. I don't remember who said it but I think it was said by some airline CEO after he placed a big order for McDonnell Douglas aircraft and was asked in an interview why he didn't place the big order for Boeing aircraft? I also think he said something about Boeing charging too much for their planes.
Now I can't remember who it was who said this. I've tried subject and key word searches on the Internet but to no avail. Does any airline historian or other member here know who said this? I think the quotation was in the periodical "Aviation Week or Space Technology" or perhaps in a biography of an airline executive. Perhaps the quote was "I love Boeing, but not that much." Not sure. Any ideas?
