Would anyone know of any routes or airlines (preferably in Europe but anywhere you can think of) that operate classic aircraft in 2021?

By classic I mean any aircraft that was produced up until the late 90s or even early 00s.
737 classics, Avro RJ’s, Fokker’s etc.

I just really want to fly some more classics that I haven’t flown yet before they all get retired.

Blue Air still has a few 737-500s, however it's difficult to catch them as it varies what routes they're being put on. The same route can sometimes be served by a 737-700, sometimes by a 737 Max8 and sometimes by a 737-500. You never know upfront which aircraft type you're going to get.

In Scotland you might be able to fly one of the last remaining Saab 340s of Loganair, I found the Glasgow to Kirkwall route to be served by a Saab 340.

Does Canadian North still operate their 737-200 Combi?

Amapola flyg still fly the Fokker 50 on many Swedish routes, as well as the Dublin to Donegal route for the next few months (also on the Fokker)

Personally I'm also trying to catch the F100, so if anyone knows a Euro route it is on then let us know!

Well, the DC-3 isn't a classic by these standards, but Buffalo Airways in northern Canada flies these on several passenger routes.

I ask because while Planespotters shows C-GDPA listed as "active," FR24 hasn't shown it operating since May 19 of this year. Currently on the ground at YZF (Yelowknife.)

Thanks for that. I tried the blue air website and went ahead
with booking just to have a look at the seat map on some routes but none of them looked like the -500 unfortunately.
I’ve never flown a max8 or -700 so even they’d be good enough for me.

Maybe if I fly FLR-OTP I’ll get the -500 because I found out that that route can only be flown with -700s or -500s due to the short runway at FLR.

And for catching the DC-3 in Europe you have to get to the Netherlands, Dutch Dakota Airlines (also known as DDA Classic Airlines) operates sightseeing flights over the Netherlands from several Dutch airports with a DC-3. Most flights for this season have already been booked full however some flights still offer some availability.

Another classic you might be able to catch is the Jet2 737-300. Most of their fleet is on the 737-800 nowadays but there are still some 300s around. Talking about Jet2, they also fly the 757-200 which is becoming rare but not yet as rare as the 737 classic. Other options for catching the 757 are Icelandair and Condor, these airlines even offer the opportunity to catch the 757-300.

As far as I could find, yes. And you got to hurry to catch them, they're being phased out as we speak.

According to their web site, LADE still operates both the F28 and SAAB 340 (plus the Twin Otter, C-130 and even a 737-700) mainly in southern Argentina although the destination map only shows the SAAB.

Sounds great. I'd move heaven and earth to fly LADE and their F28. Here's hoping its still around next year. Crikey I bet the C-130 is fun.

Trying to book onto the Loganair Saab 340 and Islander this week. Still need help catching the F100!?

Oh. I mean, I knew about Buffalo's passenger DC-3's from watching older episodes of Ice Pilots NWT, so that wasn't such a reliable source. I'm glad they have the BT-67 at least.

It’s not cheap but there are only two flying Lancs left on the earth, (with talk of a third soon!). This one is the only one where a sightseeing seat can be purchased. Last I checked, it was $3600 CDN, plus you have to be a member for $125/yr.

On October 16th there'll be the last opportunity to fly an MD-83 Mad Dog in Europe.

DAT is the last remaining operator of the Mad Dog in Europe, however not for long anymore. The aircraft is scheduled to be retired, however before they do that they'll fly one last farewell flight out of it's home base in Copenhagen. After that we'll never see another MD-80 series in Europe ever again.

There is a very special flight from Copenhagen to Aarhus on a DHC6 Twin Otter. I don’t know if they’re flying at the moment but at least one of the planes was manufactured back in 1978.

You could come to Australia if we ever open to international travellers. The world's largest S340 and F70/100 fleets operate here.

But no "classic routes" left....

Whatever Icelandair 757/767 route suits you...
