Boeing 757: Who's have you flown?

Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:02 am

Since we already had topics on the 737, 747, and 767 for this, why not start one up for A.net's favorite plane, the 757!

Sadly, I've only flown on 2 airline's 757s, but come on, as a teenager with a family who doesn't travel extremely often, what other choice do I have?

AA 757 KOA-PHX
and a bunch of DL 757s (don't remember routes)

Three Delta 757-200s, five United 757-200s, one Continental 757-300, and one United 757-300. Interestingly enough, with the exception of the one Premium Service 757-200 in 2006, the other four United 757-200s were all in the Battleship Gray livery, despite having flown them in 2009 and 2010.

I love the 757-200, hopefully still make a few more flights before they become too rare:

Boeing 757-200

Air Astana
Air Baltic
American Airlines
Audeli
Britannia Airways
British Airways
Delta Air Lines
Iberia
Icelandair
Monarch Airlines
Uzbekistan Airways

Boeing 757-300

Arkia
Condor
Delta Air Lines
Northwest Airlines
Thomas Cook Airlines
United Airlines

I've technically got four more 757 flights coming up, but I doubt I'll be able to take any of them as travel restrictions are still in place.

It's my favorite plane, of the types I've flown. Love watching the massive engine bounce around on the wing in some turbulence. Can't decide if I like the 200 or 300 more.

American, 200
Pre-merger United, 200
Post-merger United, 200 and 300
Delta, 200 and 300

Lol yes. Not enough 757 threads.

My first 757 was also my first jet ride (and second plane I flew on). Owned by Aeromexico. I believe it’s either in China or one of the VC32s now, as I flew one of the last ones late 2006.

The other was most recent. Delta’s 757. N695DL. Sadly there’s much fewer options now than before.

There's definitely some I'm forgetting and many of these routes were flown multiple times and sometimes in the reverse order. In the early 00s and late 90s it seemed like they were as common on domestic routes as 737s or a320s.

It's very possible that the airBaltic 737-300 I flew on in the summer of 2013 was actually a 757, upon doing some research. I was younger and don't have pictures, so if anyone knows whether airBaltic flew 757s to Paris in summer of 2013, dm me.

737 Classics share a common style interior with most 752s, so I can understand. The 753 and a few late model 752s have the pre-Sky Interior 737NG interior.

My first was on EA 757 on July 2, 1986 on a "thru flight" EWR-MCI-LAX. After that, it's been UA (legacy) EWR-ORD, SFO-EWR, DL (Song) EWR-FLL, a CO 757-300 FLL-EWR and plenty of AA flights MIA-DFW, MIA-LAX, MIA-PUJ, MIA-EWR, MIA-DCA, MIA-EGE.

TLDR: just DL & UA.

Long answer: In addition to a bunch of United 757 flights when I was in diapers, I know of the following. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to be a bit sentimental and look through my flight log this morning! I feel like a significant portion of my soul disappeared when I stopped traveling last March :(

It's also interesting for me to see the change in my travel habits over the years; from a kid frequently visiting his grandparents in Florida, to a young adult burning credit card miles and leveraging some business trips (that will probably never happen again) to get as much air time and see as many places as he can for as little as possible.

757-200:
UA - 06-14-2010 - BOS-SFO - N556UA - 22F
DL - 08-24-2011 - ATL-MCO - N522US - 23A
DL - 08-31-2011 - MCO-ATL - N615DL - unknown window seat

DL - 02-10-2020 - ATL-BOS - N672DL - 15F (15% of my flights in 2020 were on 757s, and not because I took a lot of flights that year...)
DL - 07-12-2021 - SEA-BOS - N703TW - 1A (Delta One configured bird w/ Domestic First service, on what is likely to be one of my only flights this year since COVID has been worsening again...I feel super blessed that this trip was able to happen! The other legs of this, my only trip this year, were: BOS-SEA (738), SEA-HNL (763), HNL-SEA (A330neo))

200: UA (pre and post-merger); US; DL; FI
300: FI, CO, DE

I probably have a weird set of 757 experiences. Despite being a UA elite in various tiers in recent years, I've never been on any of their -300s (except as CO, pre-merger, pre me flying a lot) despite having -300s out of proportion to my total experiences. I also have a lot of 757 TATL flights by ratio to my total, including a -300 on KEF-IAD. I also (I think) never got a 752 on AA despite a decent number of AA flights overall.
