Your favorite plane that you haven't flown on

Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:58 pm

My favorite would be a tie between the 757, 727, and DC-3, followed by the 747 and 767.

Tie between Concorde and MD-11. Also some older Russian planes like Il-62, Tu-134 or Tu-114 would've been awesome to fly on.

For a very very long time it was the 757-200, until I've finally caught one in Summer 2019.

The DC-8 and 707. When I went to Luxembourg in 1979 I was supposed to go on an Icelandair DC-8 but they leased a DC-10 and that's what we took they only had the DC-10 a brief time then the AA DC-10 crash happened in May 79 and they stopped flying it and went back to a DC-8 . I am disappointed now I have been on multiple DC-10's from a bunch of airlines just wish I had got the DC-8 . Oh and of course Concorde .

L1011 hands down. Wish I spent my early 20s in the late 1990s looking to book small trips just to fly on the L1011.

A220, in keeping with the singular connotation of the word "plane".

Concorde or the A346. Maybe I could catch one if LH brings a few back.

Aside from the obvious answer of the Concorde, it has to be a tie between the L-1011 TriStar and the DC-10/MD-11. I'm also too young to ever fly the 727, really would've liked to fly some tri-jets before they were gone. Last one I have a real soft spot for, if only because it looks so wonderfully odd, is the 747SP.

Both supersonic civil ones: the Tu-144 and Concorde

DC-10 and MD-11 look gorgeous, but knowing what I know now of how they were (ill)conceived, I prefer to admire them from a distance. Managed to bag L-1011 at one point, that was a treat!

747SP and some "full-length" 747 classic with a spiral staircase would have been nice.

I missed 707 I should have booked before phrased it when I was in high school. Dang! Too late. But I have been on TWA 707 just ground in Dayton.

I want to fly on Concorde but expensive!!

I have never been on DC-7 or Super Constellation or MD-11 or Boeing 717.

Not including anything Russian (I would love to have flown on a TU-134 or TU-154, not to mention the TU-114 or IL-118) it would have to be the L1011. I flew on DC-10s many times, but never on a Tristar.

While it doesn’t really count, I wish I could remember my 727 flights. I flew on 727s several times, but was too young to remember.

I'd have to say the A310 and A346 given my age. Got the A300 and A343 luckily. If I had been born earlier, I'd say the 727-100, VC-10, IL-62. Those old t-tails man...

I will go slightly off topic here, and say that I would like to have flown on one of the Hindenburg flights. You may wonder why. It was a gorgeous ship, and the accommodations look like they were wonderful. But my real motive is, I would like to sit down and play a piano made out of aluminum. The Hindenburg had one.
