The ATRs - Whose have you flown?

Thu Oct 14, 2021 3:43 pm

Here it is, yet another manufacturer for which to compare statistics. Which operators of ATR 42 and 72 aircraft have you flown?

ATR 42-300/320: Cape Air (UA), Stobart Air (EI)
ATR 42-500: Empire (HA), Air Saint-Pierre
ATR 42-600: Aeromar

ATR 72-200/210: Island Air, Air Serbia, Danu Oro Transportas (EI) - this last one had a front pax door which I thought was cool
ATR 72-500: Aurigny, Braathens Regional/Kullaflyg, Cebgo, Air Vanuatu
ATR 72-600: Regional Jet/Nordica, Uni Air, Stobart Air (EI)

Deeply in love with ATR. My favorite aircraft manufacturer.
I wonder how many participants we have with a flight on a Ryanair ATR :)
A42:
Air Caledonie (F-OIPI)
FlyDAE (PJ-XLM; PJ-XLN)
SATENA (HK-4862; HK-5114) - was dreaming of getting one with a military reg. nope...
EasyFly (HK-5321)

A72:
Islas (before I started taking regs, but I flew on two of their ATR72s)
Air Caledonie (F-OIPS)
LOT (Eurolot) (SP-LFD)
Finnair (OH-ATE; OH-ATJ)
Air nostrum (for Iberia) (EC-NCC)
Royal Air Maroc (CN-COG)
Aeromar (XA-UZT)
Air New Zealand (ZK-MCA; ZK-MCF)
Maswings (Malaysian) (9M-MWH; 9M-MWJ)
Mann Yadanarpon (XY-AJP)
Wings (subsidiary of Lion Air) (PK-WFF; PK-WFI; PK-WFM; PK-WFZ). They do their best not to give me a flight on ATR72-600
Garuda Indonesia (PK-GAA; PK-GAP)
Cebu (RP-C7255)

I despised the 200/300 series ATRs, but love the 500/600 series which is hands down better than the Q400 from a passenger perspective.

For the below I’ve lumped the 200/300 together as I’m not sure on the exact model.

ATR-42-200/300: Continental Express (one flight EWR-BGR)
ATR-72-200/300: IslandAir (one flight HNL-LIH), Continental Express (several flights)
ATR-72-500: Mount Cook/NZ Link (one flight CHC-DUD), Virgin Australia (several flights)
ATR-72-600: Virgin Australia (countless flights)

Only two flights on board ATR's, I'm sure both were 72 since I took note of the reg numbers and checked later. Both with the same airline, Air Tahiti, from PPT to Bora Bora and back. Short flights, unforgettable experience. Hope I can repeat the trip some day!
