Your 2022 Booked/Flown Flights

Sat Nov 13, 2021 5:40 pm

It's about that time of the year when (I hope) preliminary travel plans are coming together. As travel recovers and restrictions ease, where are you headed in 2022?

I'll start us off. I have a week off work and some miles to spend, so I booked a trip around the country in January to check off a few new aircraft types.
1/6: UA455 BWI-ORD 10:59ET-12:10CT A319
1/6: UA1774 ORD-LAX 14:20CT-16:48PT B789 <- new type for me
1/6: AS431 LAX-SEA 18:55PT-21:50PT A320
1/6: DL845 SEA-ATL 22:59PT-06:35ET B763 <- new type for me

I already bought a ticket for an historical, and I have the feeling a rather unpredictable flight. I mean, Volaris first flight bound for CUN out of the new NLU (Santa Lucía) airport to begin operations march 21st, 2022, the same day I hope to fly out from there, and I mean "I hope" for at this stage, for I am not sure that flight will take place at least as currently scheduled.

No itinerary booked yet but depending on travel restrictions to Thailand, I'd like to get back to BKK, HKT and CNX.

Ideally May '22 or Oct '22:
AA AUS-LAX B738/A321
KE LAX-ICN B777
KE ICN-BKK A333/B777 probably

TG BKK-HKT A350/A333/B787
TG HKT-CNX A320
TG CNX-BKK A350/A333/B787

KE BKK-ICN no idea on equipment
KE ICN-LAX B777
AA LAX-AUS B738/A321

What do you all think?

4 flights currently booked:

1/5. DEN-BNA. UA. 739.
1/7. BNA-DEN. UA. 739.
3/10. DEN-LHR. UA. 789.
3/19. LHR-DEN. UA. 789.

Others scheduled, but not yet booked include:

June
DEN-BTV-DEN. Almost certainly a UA A319 in both directions.

September
DEN-SLC-DEN. Almost certainly a DL A220 in both directions.

That’s all the initial conferences and vacations on the agenda, but hopefully many more ad-hoc trips too.

I will FINALLY be on BA 272/273 777-300 SAN-LHR and LHR-SAN!! Outbound on Monday, September 19 (arriving on Tuesday, September 20), and returning on Sunday, October 2.

Along with that will be Hawaiian Airlines SAN-HNL, HNL-ITO, ITO-OGG, OGG-HNL, and HNL-SAN. Yes, there is a non-stop from OGG to SAN, but for two of us, I'll take the short hop to HNL on a 2x3 plane for a 2x4x2 set-up for the flight home (rather than 3x3).

Just booked a flight for next week, the first of 2022.

7 January - - - HKG-PVG - - - Cathay Pacific - - - Airbus A330-300

Seemed like tickets for this route were going fast as people aim to get into the Chinese mainland and complete quarantine in time for Chinese New Year.

Tomorrow’s non-stop flight to BNA has been cancelled by United, so I get to connect.

Not only does it mean more time traveling tomorrow, but I now also get to fly on a 757-300. First time on a 757 in so, so long.

My wife and colleagues think I’m nuts. But this is great news!

DL ANC-SEA-ATL-ORF is currently booked. I will be rebooking onto to AS/AA once I get to NRT and figure out my ETA back to ANC and the remainder of my work schedule.

End of the Month I will be booking ORF-DEN-ANC on United. Or AA/AS ORF-DFW/CLT-SEA-ANC. I might status match over to AA once my change of domicile to JFK is completed later this month.

Carrying over from last year because I can't find the 2021 thread anymore:

Dec 18
Lufthansa | LH 1113 | MAD-FRA | Airbus A321-231 D-AISJ

Now, as for actual 2022:

Jan 07
Air Europa | UX1502 | FRA-MAD | Boeing 737-85P EC-MPS

---

Jan 31
TP1095 VLC-LIS AT76
new type! fingers crossed
TP572 LIS-FRA A20N

Hopeful that I'll be able to keep expanding this list.

Flown:
January 7 --- HKG-PVG --- Cathay Pacific --- Airbus A330-300

Made my Lunar New Year plans:
January 29 --- PVG-TEN --- Juneyao Airlines --- Airbus A320
January 29 --- TEN-TFU --- Juneyao Airlines --- Airbus A320
February 7 --- CTU-PVG --- China Eastern --- Airbus A320

And just like that, if all goes to plan, I'll already have exceeded 2021's paltry flight count.

Craziest start possible: Motor Sich An 140 UR-14005 LWO-IEV (couldn't believe my eyes; expected An-24)
PS 195 UR-EMG KBP-VNO
Let's see how this crazy start develops. Booked on

OU FRA-ZAG (319)
OU ZAG-DBV (319)
OU SPU-ZAG (319)
OU ZAG-CPH (Q40)
SK CPH-VNO (CR9)
Incredibly, that would be my first flight on CR9. they always evaded me. maybe this time...

My 2022 is starting off in the US as I'm still on my holiday that began in mid December 2021. All planned flights have changed from original bookings. My Jan 16 flight was changed to transit through ORD rather than CLT due to a winter storm in CLT. My return flight to Australia was changed to MEL from SYD as QF does no longer operates LAX-SYD on Fridays.

Planned
Jan 16 - EVV-ORD - AA3553 - E145
Jan 16 - ORD-RSW - AA2561 - B738
Jan 28 - RSW-LAX - AS377 - B739
Jan 28 - LAX-MEL - QF94 - B789
Jan 30 - MEL-SYD - QF432 - B738

Nothing. And it'll remain that way as long as all these Covid rules and testing requirements keep changing.- I'm simply not interested with all the inconveniences. Should the situation change for summer, then maybe TRN-CAG.

Delta just canceled their SEA-LHR nonstop, so after some consultation with customer service I rebooked myself on the following itinerary. I'm also having some trouble with my TAP trip as they cancelled their 7/4 LIS-SFO flight and rebooked me to leave on the 5th (which I'm fine with), but didn't put me on a flight connecting to SEA. I was unable to get ahold of customer service to fix it, so at this point I might just cancel and rebook on another airline, but we'll see.

March 1st: LA(JJ) 8084 GRU-LHR
March 16h LA(JJ) 8085 LHR-GRU

Those will be my 1st long haul flights since the pandemic started. Also the 1st time flying the 77W since the pandemic started. I was supposed to have flown GRU-FRA-LCY back in 2020, but had to postpone the flight for reasons we all know why. Now at least I'll get to London nonstop, even if a bit farther from the City :D

Just returned from our first flight of 2022 the other night. A treat was catching a 767-400 for the return, so I was able to add two new widebodies to my flown collection! The flight home was half empty, it was wonderful. Absolutely loved the 767!

I posted this prior, but with the update/change to the 767:

Feb 4th:
CLE-ATL (DL A321)
ATL-LAX (DL A350)

Feb 11th:
LAX-ATL (DL 767-400)
ATL-CLE (DL A321)

Next flight will be in March (TBD), likely to San Antonio. Not sure on carrier just yet. Looks like a mix of Southwest and either Delta/United.

In April, booked CLE-ORF via Southwest through BWI. So just the typical 737-700 and -800.

Delta canceled 5849 and reboooked me on 5850 PIT-DTW, 90 minutes earlier. Still Republic, still E175. So now I get 4 hours to explore DTW. Now taking recommendations for airside restaurants for lunch.

Not much flying anymore these years, but anyway I never took flights just for flying, but rather to get to places. So in 2022 it is this:

16. Feb HAM-TFS, DE/Condor, A320
19. Feb. TFN-GMZ, NT/Binter, ATR72
24. Feb. GMZ-TFN, NT/Binter, ATR72, TFN-VDE, NT/Binter, ATR72
06. Mar. VDE-TFN, NT/Binter, ATR72, TFN-LPA, NT/Binter, ATR72
09. Mar. LPA-HAM, DE/Condor, A320

06. May HAM-OSL, EW/Eurowings, A319

25. May DUS-VCE, EW/Eurowings, A319
30. May VCE-HAM, EW/Eurowings, A319

We have a few more ideas, but nothing booked or planned in detail.

Friends and I are scouting out a trip to Octoberfest in the fall. Doing everything I can to make a Lufthansa 747 the most appealing option to a group of people who could not care less.

Got my first flights booked for this year, too:

MAR:
NUE-FRA, LH147, Lufthansa A319-100
FRA-BUD, LH1342, Lufthansa A321-200
BUD-VIE, OS714, Austrian E195
VIE-NUE, OS213, Austrian E195

APR
NUE-CAG, FR7904, Ryanair 737-800
CAG-PMI, FR1560, Ryanair 737-800
PMI-NUE, DE1035, Condor A330-200

The last one is gonna be a little highlight, as this one is booked in C. As they use former Etihad jets still with Etihad seat layout, this will be the most luxurious intraeuropean flight I've ever taken.
