Fri Dec 31, 2021 3:36 pm

Greetings to all!

Just a simple poll, really...when a particular type of plane is mentioned, what is the FIRST airline that pops into your head? Feel free to list any reasons why, if you'd like.

757: Continental

767: TWA

777: United

Re: What Airline Do You Associate With A Particular Type?

Living in the vicinity of Heathrow for many many years I tend to associate many aircraft types with those flown by BA/BOAC/BEA but that's because that what I saw most often. Particularly I associate them with the 744, 757, Tristar, Trident, BAC1-11 and VC10. I also associate British Midland with the DC9. Virgin comes connected to the A340

Outside of the home airlines a few others come to mind:

Tristar - Cathay Pacific
DC10 - Ghana Airways
767 - American
757 - Icelandic
747 Singapore/Cathay
737 KLM/Lufthansa
Caravelle - Air France
A310 TAP

All the rest sort of merge into a blob of A320s/330s etc and no particular airline stands out in my mind.
