Which is no guarantee either as some airlines have their A330s configured in 3-3-3. For example AirAsia X, it's the reason they're able to offer lower fares than airlines that fly the same aircraft in 2-4-2.

True, but it's only the Asian LCC's that have 3-3-3 configured A330's. The legacy carriers have a 2-4-2 configuration. With the 787, all Low-cost and Legacy (except JAL) airlines have a 3-3-3 configuration, sadly.
