LGW - EWR was VS launch route way back in 1984. They commenced a 2nd frequency LGW -JFK in 1988/89 after BA took over BCal. Then they moved JFK & EWR in 1991/2 over to LHR.
At some point they added additional NYC service and I wondered which year's they added them.

I’m talking about their third frequency. The additional service you are asking about.

According to the link below VS had 2 NYC-LON routes in early 1990:

LGW-EWR (4 per week)
LGW-JFK (daily)

The third frequency (another LGW-EWR) was to be added (again, 4 days a week) in May 1990. And would offer no smoking cabins for the 1st time.

That's not the 3rd NCY service I'm looking for. As I stated above they were already operating 2 x daily 'most days'. They added a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and I think we're upto 6 x by pre covid. I think the 3rd daily on they're own metal was LHR - JFK in 1995.... but wondered if anyone can confirm this. Or was it added in 1994 when they linked up with Delta.
