Same airport...same airline over and over again

Sun Jan 30, 2022 7:15 pm

In the spirit of the threads of flying the most airlines on a particular route or most aircraft types with a particular airline, etc. etc.....which airport have you flown into the most, but you've only flown the same airline?

For me, it's LAX. I've been in and out of there 21 times. Always American, even connecting there to their SYD service.

- Lilongwe (LLW): more than a dozen (16?) of times between 2007 and 2010 exclusively with Kenya Airways.

- LCY: cityjet (4)

If it has to be an airport that I only ever used with the same airline, I can only think of DXB on EK with 8 landings and departures.

I have a large number of airports that I used much more, but all of them on 2 or many more airlines. The only other special case might be FRA: I've been there on a number of other airlines (e.g. LA, SQ, DE, SN, CX, NH and more), but all my flights HAM-FRA were on LH (+ the occasional Cityline). It must have been >100, I never counted them.

That would be Weeze (NRN), flown out of there four times and always on Ryanair. That's no surprise as Ryanair is the only airline that serves Weeze.

All other airports I've either flown out of on different airlines or less often.

Thinking of Ryanair a similar airport comes to mind: 4 return flights out of LBC. And looking at my flight map I found two with 2 landings and 2 departures: PMC on LA and SAL on MX.

Edit: Oops, there are more: MCO on MP, SUB on KL, AUA on KL and maybe more.

And they had plenty of Saabs.

This one is tough for me as many, if not most of, my trips look something like KEF-X-Y where X is an FI destination and X-Y is flown on a different airline. With that in mind, my answer is not really impressive compared to a total of 618 flights. My number one answer by far is 12 flights to Orlando/Sanford (SFB), all on FI.

If Air Iceland (NY) operated by an Íslandsflug ATR is counted as NY proper, Egilsstaðir (EGS) is second at 8 flights. Otherwise, 4 is probably the most I can offer:

- Abu Dhabi (AUH) on Etihad
- Bíldudalur (BIU) on the long gone Landsflug (X9)
- Istanbul Ataturk (then IST, now ISL) on Turkish
- New York (LGA) on Delta, although I'm booked SRQ-LGA with WN in April
- Riga (RIX) on airBaltic
- Vopnafjörður (VPN) on Norlandair
- Þórshöfn (THO) on Norlandair

All I have is CMI with American Eagle and DEN with United. The rest are either airports I've only gone in and out of once or multiple times with multiple airlines. MCO would be almost all United other than one Delta flight in 1996.

MCI - many hundreds of times with the vast majority on DL, then AA
LAX - more than 50: AA, CO, UA, DL
ORD - more than 50: AA, UA, CO (the old one), BN, Ozark,
SNA - more than 50: Mostly DL and some AA

After that, I'm guessing I've flow to 100+ different US, Canada, Mexico and Caribbean airports.

The only two really airports of note I haven't flow in/out is IAH and JFK.

My top three are probably DFW on AA, IAH on UA, and CDG on AF. Funnily, though, I'm flying WN to IAH this afternoon (as a stop on a BNA-LAS routing), so it'll shortly be off the list.

Happy flying!

International is a fun one - not as much as LAX for me on American, but I've flown three times into AMS on Delta - that's the most for me internationally to any one destination the most number of times on a single airline.

On my recorded 1235 take off´s, 349 have taken place at MEX, with Mexicana as the leading airline.
I also have 108 at MTY, 81 at GDL and 42 at CUN.
Internationally LAX leads my records with 28.

Same airport...same airline over and over again

Tue Feb 08, 2022 1:35 am

At all of my home airports I’ve used multiple airlines, but I think I’ve only ever flown to SAT on AA, and I did it over 50 times working on several projects there. In fact, all except one of those flights was an AA MD-80 - they subbed a 763 in once for some reason.

For me it's DEN. Dozens of flights, both connecting and O&D, and every single one with UA. Second place would be CLT and AA. I don't have an exact count for either.

Only three airports that are, compared to other responses, barely worth noting:

7 flights
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian
Santiago de Chile - LATAM (Then LAN Chile)

Six flights
Bahrain - Gulf

DFW-FSM, American Eagle. Many, many segments...and in fact, it is my number one most flown route.

Only in 1974, before there was "American Eagle", did I fly that route on the original Frontier, on a Convair CV-580.

Tough one, there are very few airports I can think of that I've flown through more than twice with the same airline - I purposely always try to take different carriers where possible.

One carrier in particular features a few times...

20 x JS @ FNJ ... An-24B, An-24RV, An-148B, Il-18D, Il-62M, Il-76, Tu-134B-3, Tu-154B, Tu-154B-2, Tu-204-100
8 x DL @ ATL ... B757-200, B767-300ER, DC-9-50, MD88
8 x QR @ DOH/DIA ... A319-100LR, A330-200, A330-300. A340-600, A380-800, B777-200LR, B777-300ER
6 x JS @ WOS ... Il-18D, Il-62M, Tu-134B-3
4 x WY @ MCT ... A330-200, A330-300, B787-8
4 x ET @ ADD ... B787-8, B777-200LR
4 x JS @ DSO ... An-24B, Il-76, Tu-134-B3
3 x AA @ MIA ... B757-200, B767-300ER, B777-300ER, (+ERJ 175 with AA Eagle)
3 x Grixona @ BZY ... Il-18D

Pretty much most airports I've flown out of more than once has been with multiple airlines, the only one I can think of flying out of more than once and only on one airline would be HHN. Two times, once to PIK and back and once to GRO, BVA, BGY back to HHN - both times with Ryanair.

Juneau (JNU) - 193 times Alaska Airlines

Arriving (97)
ANC-JNU: 5
SEA-JNU: 91
YAK-JNU: 1

Departing (96)
JNU-KTN: 1
JNU-SEA: 88
JNU-ANC: 7

Left Juneau once on the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) headed down south thus the mismatch.

The only airports I have landed at more than twice and only on one airline are RSW (CO), TPA (CO), IAD (UA) and DXB (EK).

I’ve been to EWR dozens and dozens of times, but one flight was on AA and two on BA, rather than CO/UA, so that doesn’t count.

DTW-LAX on NW/DL. My wife was living in LA when I met here so we would take turns flying to each other's city to meet for a few days. After our wedding and her move to Detroit, we still (pre-Covid) would try to visit her family at least once a year.

Living and working at MHK, which is only served by AA, I have flown in or out 372 times. The handful of times it wasn't AA, it was Great Lakes, or US Airways / Air Midwest to MCI or DEN on a Beech 1900d.

Other than my out/in from my current hometown airport of SYD, it is when I am flying into and out of the US and around the US.

DFW - In on QF then connecting on AA, or In on AA and connecting on QF
CLT - In from RSW then onto EVV or in from EVV and onto RSW

If I can take a liberty and go with literally a single exception of an AC CRJ one time - it would be IAD. All United and probably 100+ segments.

Otherwise, it is probably YKF, which was only on American Eagle and I did that a bunch of times before they sadly killed the service - right before I bought a house around the corner too. MIA has been AA only, but not a ton of flights. Pretty sure OAK, commercially anyway (I've flown myself in there several times), has been WN only.

Not that I've been there "over and over again" as the thread title might imply but Singapore only with SQ over four trips. I've never walked out of the airport...sad as that may seem to some people. Not that it really matters but the date is departure date.

There are airports with smaller totals and others with higher total flights but I like a variety. I'm an airline enthusiast after all and not loyal to or tied to one particular airline or airport.

It would have been DEN on UA, dozens of times, but just 1 landing into DEN on WN wrecks that stat and makes the winner... ATL on DL but probably only half-a-dozen times...

The only one I can think of is FRA. I've taken 3 round trips on LH through FRA (so a total of 6 visits to FRA). Each time, I started from BOS (my home airport), and transited to either MAA or BOM.

Then, the only other one I can think of is KWI. I have flown through there twice (1 round trip and and a one-way). All flights were on KU... After horrible experiences both times, never flying through that airport or on that airline again.

I have transited via ZRH solely on LX and through HKG only on CX, but those were both one-off's, so I guess they don't really count.

Not a terribly exciting answer, but it's DL at ATL, Never flown aboard another carrier there, but it's only been my final destination once:

2003: SEA-ATL DLxxxx 763 Nxxxxx
2003: ATL-SLC DLxxxx 763 Nxxxxx
2004: SEA-ATL DL528 763 N176DZ
2004: ATL-PIT DL1068 M88 N966DL
2005: SEA-ATL DL528 763 N127DZ
2005 ATL-SEA DL533 763 N139DL
2006 SEA-ATL DL616 752 N698DL
2007 BOS-ATL DL661 752 N660DL
2008 CPH-ATL DL69 764 N826MH
2008:ATL-SEA DL1059 763 N134DL

Think that about the jist of it. I'm pretty sure the only DL flight I've been on on without touching Atlanta was PIT-CVG in 2005, and that was a Comair anothing doesn't touch either ATL or SEA.

Paris/Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, France (CDG) - 126 takeoffs/landings with (AF) Air France.
- 128 takeoffs/landings at CDG, if I include the two Air France segments (operated by CityJet) CDG-DUB & v.v.

SEA for almost 20 years on AS. VA acquisition comes around and suddenly AS became the airline of 'No'. Tried DL SEA-SAN one time and was so impressed with service (and subsequently with schedule), it's a no-brainer. Delta for me now.

IAH - 4 flights, all on UA
