I have the option of a 40min or 4hr layover in FLL for late December. Anyone know if all JB gates are next to each other or do they use both concourses in T3? Im inbound domestic, but I fear that I have zero margin of error such as a 10 min delay waiting for take off in WashDC, being stuck in row 30 or deboarding at the end of one concourse and running to the end of the other concourse....
Im a fast walker but if I run too fast, TSA might chase me....
It would depend on how it's ticketed for me but I'd be very conscious of the high probability of delay out of DC at that time of year.
"Self transfer"/Separate tickets - definitely go with the 4hrs. Through ticket/One ticket - If they're selling it, it must be in theory be doable and they're responsible if you don't make it. Although I suspect I may lean towards the longer layover anyway because "why make life needlessly more stressful?", unless I really needed to be there. Even KLM/AMS don't/didn't sell such a short connection time (50mins min) and they're masters of the transit.
