When will we ever see Vietnam Airlines launch flights between SGN and LAX?
Vietnam Airlines commemorated their 1st year anniversary of their very first US route SFO sometime ago in late-November, and with U.S. ambassador to Vietnam, Marc Knapper, stating that he hopes that Vietnam Airlines will expand further in North America, could we be seeing LAX in early-mid 2023? Also, how do you see HAN/SGN-LAX being routed?

At some point I think SGN-LAX is bound to happen.
I wonder if SGN-SFO is profitable for Vietnam Airlines. SGN-SFO is still operating, but I wonder how it does financially otherwise.

Also, if this were ever to happen in 2023, do you see it being routed either nonstop or one-stop?

^^^Wouldn’t be much of a “pride route” if it was one-stop.
Certainly if the standard a350 can reach SFO from SIN, it can reach it from Vietnam, assuming it’s not loaded too heavily or the layout is too much.
I don’t know the frequency between SFO-SGN now. Probably daily or close to it. Assuming Vietnam wants to save some face while running such a route, they could always just do 3-4x weekly to LAX if it’s mostly VFR.
Yes, my post has a lot of conditional statements. I don’t have a lot of resources at the moment to give you more definite thoughts!

LAWA CEO has confirmed talks with all three of Vietnam's longhaul airlines for a nonstop to LAX, and at least two of them have confirmed their intent to eventually serve.
The interesting thing, is the most advanced talks area actually with VietJet, but since their longest-ranged current aircraft is the A333 (which packs in 377 seats at 9-abreast!) and no other widebodies on order, they won't be doing a nonstop any time soon. Heck, IMHO, even a 1stop would struggle.
The other is Bamboo, who at least has 789s on order, but limited experience with them.
