Boeing 377 Stratocruisers

Mon Jul 10, 2000 4:40 am

I'm doing some sideview illustrations of the Boeing 377 and I'm interested in any and all photos of this plane throughout its life. I've got Ian Mackintosh's book on the Stratocruiser & C-97 and it has a comprehensive list of who flew which 377 when, but it ends at the publication date of 1978.

I'm specifically looking for pictures of United, American and Northwest 377s, as well as any foreign operators, especially post-1978. I'd also like to see a close-up of the nose of a BOAC, Northwest and Ransa, showing the different names and such.

To see my work in progress, I've uploaded the 377 prototype illustration to:

Eventually I'd like to illustrate a complete history of each of the 55 Boeing 377s built. Thanks for all of your help!

We are the operators of the last of 2 remaining flyable C-97/377's. I have many picture I took of ours, C-97G (formerly KC-97G) 52-2718. are you interested??

PS, there are many mags with the pics you are looking for. Air classics just did a thing on it this past month, and last year there was a 3 part series in AirPower and its sister publication, Wings.. both Sentry publications mags. July Airpower, August Wings, and September Airpower.
chech out our C-97 at
