Why do some of united's seats look like Greyhound bus seats?

These are the main Economy Plus and Economy seats. This is the fabric that they are both in. I don't know why they look like Greyhound bus seats.

I guess it must of been a trend that stuck since the early 1980s a few major airlines launched their dowdy "professional look" i believe air canada and twa used to have similar seat fabric patterns. And yeah they do look like bus seats, i guess its their way of defining "coach" class. hehe.

That Pic must be updated the new UA 5.6 is very nice. Solid blue in Econ Plus, Gray for Economy Minus. ( just a new joke i heard today)
