Ironic that my first solo airline flight would be with the company I would eventually work for.

I just got chills.

Some time in 1961 I took a few days off high school to take this trip.
San Francisco to Fresno to Los Angeles (SFO-FAT-LAX) in one of these. I'm glad now I got this leg on the Connie.

Then Los Angeles to Phoenix to Tucson (LAX-PHX-TUS) in one of these. My brother booked the flight for me specifically to get me a ride in a jet. That was a pretty big deal at the time.

A few years earlier I had my first ride in a military plane on one of these. It was at Hamilton AFB (SRF) and all we did was taxi out to the "pea patch" to park it, but I thought it was pretty cool - I got to sit in the copilot seat.

As a kid, we went from SJU to MCO (Disney!) on an Eastern L1011-Tristar; non stop. I remember when we left SJU their was tropical wave in the area and the weather was nasty when that big bird took off! But it was great!

My first memory is a flight from Atlanta to Manila sometime in 1979 (i was three). I remember Tokyo Airport and a Philippine Airlines DC-8 to Manila I can't remember if it was Pan Am, United or Northwest, but i remember a 747.

If anyone has any clues about which flight or airline I might have been on, I would greatly appreciate the info.

I had this discussion with my parents a while back, when I was trying to figure out if I had ever been on a DC-8, as I would have been to young to remember. The concensus would it would have been on CO in 1966 or so, on a 707 ORD-DEN, or perhaps a UA DC-8 to San Diego that year.
