I think that it will become a hybrid airline, part LCC, part-premium airline; Song meets Virgin Atlantic. Delta Connection's role is really still up in the air, but I would gather that Delta may end up with two airlines in the Delta Connection system, ASA and Comair. I'm going to say that
DFW may be severely downsized to flights to a focus city (especially with
CO coming into SkyTeam in the near future,
DL might funnel pax through
IAH instead of
DFW), and much of ASA's
DFW ops may get redeployed to
SLC and Delta would probably drop SkyWest as a Delta Connection carrier. Some of Delta Connection's operations @
ATL may change as well, as some longer routes currently served with RJs will either revert to mainline or be dropped. Some service that DCI does seems illogical when there is mainline and/or DCI service at another airport less than an hour away.
