RB211 Powered 752's. More thrust than the Pratts. And a Lear 35 will put you back in the seat pretty good.

And one I have not flown in but I am sure its a blast, SpaceShipOne!!!!  Smile

752 - with Rollers of course!

(Also - had the chance to experience a CX744 (with Rollers!) take off MAN to FRA en route to HKG. The a/c was practically empty of pax and fuel. Boy did that machine shoot up PDQ! Rather different at FRA - fully laden a/c - very lengthy T/O run!

The 717 is pretty impressive considering it is an overpowered DC9-30. If you take the longest DC9, which in this case would be a -50 (Excluding the -80 series and -90 series) and slap JT8D-17 engines on that. It provides a slow takeoff. That is 17,400 pounds of thrust per engine. The 717 weighs about as much as a DC9-50 does and the engines have about 18,500 pounds of thrust with room to upgrade that to 21,000 lbs of thrust on some planes (AirTran has done this to some planes). So you are looking at 42,000 pounds of thrust pushing the 717 off the ground and only 6,000 lbs keeping it in the air.

I think the takeoff these guys are about to undergo would be pretty damned exciting...and in one of the best jets ever. Shame they're about to retire them all.

The 757 by far has one of the most impressive take-offs I have ever seen. Those babies are rockets on take off...the Boeing 777s are very impressive on takeoff as well...but the best takeoffs are the Boeing 747...I just love the way they slowly climb into the air at first, then begin rapidly taking off....just an awesome way to show they are a giant. If they were still around, I would have to say the Concorde's had the best takeoffs ever.... Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up

Lear 35 - Dead set WEAPON!

727-200 with JT8D-17 engines, both for noise and power, Great fun in freighter when she empty.

Never flown on a 752 though it seems impressive.

On my experience,

1. 737-200 -rocket take-off. FUN!

2. 727-200 - heart-stopping take-off. Sometime it feels like it is struggling to take off when nose gear is in air.

3. 757-200 - fast and short take off.

The 757- awesome power, quick climb & the buzzsaw engine whine. If you've never heard the sound of the engines, do a search on http://www.flightlevel350.com for the 757, then on the second page, watch the video that has the caption "Aboard flight 1061 with nonstop service to Chicago and continuing service to Phoenix..." Big grin

I was just recently on a 777, and I have changed my mind! The take off was AWESOME/ABSOLUTELY POWERFUL. It was on UA from SFO-DEN. Than i flew home on Frontier into LGA. Frontier has a nice overall product.
