Well, which Boeing and/or Airbus plane do you think looks the best and the ugliest. You can pick 2 Boeing, 2 Airbus, 1 Boeing - 1Airbus. One has to be ugly and the other of course the best one. And, you also have to give a reason for it.
The Best: A320-200 - just looks sleek
The Ugly: B737-... - very big vertical stabilizer for a small plane

Best: B747SP and B762 - Love the unproportinality!
Worst: A320/A321 - Very standard appearence...nothing special!
P.S: My opinion is based solely on the appearence of the aircraft!

Airliners.net has a number of forums besides "Civil Aviation." I recommend all users visit the other forums, too. This thread should have been posted in the Aviation Polls and Preferences forum. Love em all, but partial to the Boeing 727, 707; as well as Airbus A340-600, and for sheer functionality, but yet many people call her ugly the Beluga!
For all of you out there that don't like the A320/A321, it doesn't look too shabby here.

Perfect proportions, tough but graceful. Even the wingtip antennas add something to the aesthetics. The 747-400 is still a nice-looking plane but the longer hump makes it look a bit more hunchbacked.

The engines do not match the plane; if I remember right these engines were developed for a tail-mounted configuration and were then later just slapped on the 737 when Boeing realized airlines wanted a plane that was actually smaller and more fuel efficient than the 727. They basically chopped the 727-100 fuselage down a few feet and slung the engines below the wings. The result is the aesthetic mess that is the 737-100.
Now, the 737-800 is not that bad-looking of a plane:

Yes, I realize the airplane is not finished in this pic, but we've all seen the 3D renders and other renditions of the finished plane in various liveries. It's ugly. It looks like a giant pig. And it's all out of proportion; as big as the fuselage is, the wings look too big for it. The tail looks too big for it. It's like a mutant 747-SP, but without any of the SP's distinctiveness and charm.
Best Overall: 747-100/200

Easy--The Boeing 747 and the A380. The A380 just looks wrong with its cockpit on the lower deck...but a double-decker with four engines and an upper-deck cockpit is the ultimate jumbo jet in my opinion, not to be anti-Airbus. the A380, while ugly, is an extraordinary achievement, I look forward to its entrance into service.
