I get a lot of WNs 737s from ISP. I don't really hear them but, it is so beautiful to see them bank over the northern coast of Long Island!!!!!!!
I also get a lot of widebodies going across the pond. They are way high and some times I can see 4 or 5 nice contrails.
Usually 4 engines and some with 2, rare to see a three holer. I suspest these are the flights from NY to Europe, I know the incoming flights ride along the south bay.

Where I live: Near Cairns Army Airfield/KOZR and the OZR VOR-DME antenna. Primarily during the week:
US Army:
LAR Transregional (Portugal) and Transmile Air Services (Malaysia)">TH-67 Creek, UH-60 Blackhawk, UH-1 Huey/Flatiron, C-12 Huron, CH-47 Chinook, AH-64 Apache/Longbow
Ocassionally OH-58 Kiowa
Also sometimes general aviation like Cessna 172, Piper Cherokee, transiting the Class D airspace or doing practice approaches.
During the spring and summer plenty of airmass thunderstorms fly over my house.

We don't get too much over our house really... a lot of arrivals from the west into Sky Harbor make their turn about 3 miles north of my house.

This morning as I was getting into my car about 715am I looked up and saw a white MD80 on its way out of town. Since we only get AS and AA MD80s anymore... best I can tell it was Alaska 753 on its way to Seattle.

Everything banking to the south from BOS off 33L, depending on the wind. Starts a 6:00 AM promptly: lots of 737, 757, 767, 320s, MD-80s. Many days we get a FedEX DC-10 mid-morning. That looks like it's going about 50 mph. In the evenings, it's more varied, with more heavies curling aroung the city on their way to Europe. I wish I had a house in Winthrop or Southie right near the water. These people who complain about the noise. MOVE.

OK...from my house I can see every plane that lands on 9L/R at FLL. Also, planes coming from the south for 13 and occasionally planes taking off on 27R/L
(I'm 10 miles out)
Also, if the 9's/31/8's/whatever that facing runway is in use at MIA, we will often get departures.

At my school, we get the same, only we get all planes on 13 approach....much lower than for 9L!

My dad's office is 1 mile out of MIA (to the west)...so basically everything MIA has to offer!

Also, a cool thing is that I saw my house from the plane the 2 times I felw this year!

If it is a day where aircraft are landing on Chicago Midway's 4 left or right, the day will look something like this:

Every thirty seconds a Southwest 737, occasionally peppered with ATA 757/737s (although soon to be not), and now and then a Northwest DC-9. We used to get Delta 737s but I don't recall the last time I saw one. Lots of other stuff, its very active here.

Flights tend to taper off after 8 or 9pm. Looking out my balcony, I can see the entire lineup at night. Very pretty. They come in right over me, and I live close enough to Midway that I can hear reverse thrust at times.

I get tons...TONS of flights over my house... mainly because i live about 30 miles east of the FNT vortac, which is part of the Pullman4 arrival into KORD... so almost all the flights flying over are bound for KORD.

I get all these routes flying over my house everyday:

KBOS-KORD
KPVD-KORD
KPWM-KORD
KBDL-KORD
KALB-KORD
KSYR-KORD
KBUF-KORD
KROC-KORD
KBTV-KORD
KMHT-KORD
KBOS-KMKE
KBDL-KMKE

Occasionally the KLGA-KORD, KJFK-KORD, or KEWR-KORD flights, but not frequently... they usually pass more near KDTW, which is harder for me to see ( I can barely see them but they're difficult since the contrails are far south ).

Also once in a great while, i'll get a JFK-SEA, SEA-JFK, something of that nature...

All the northwest KDTW-EHAM flights pass over my house at 17000 feet... i have photos of them and use binocs to see them, very easy to spot with those huge red tails! Plus theres no mistaking the sound of a large airliner passing over your house, i know when one is passing just by the sound it makes.

I've also had RJAA-KJFK, RJAA-KEWR, PANC-KJFK flights pass over on a rare basis. I once saw a COA 777-200ER passing over, with bright yellow, blue, and an array of colors, found out it was the Peter Max, enroute RJAA-KEWR. Great stuff!

Since I'm about 15 miles NE of JFK, I get most everything going into rwy 22, along with various biz-jets & light a/c in & out of FRG, and the occasional F-16 flying CAP over NY.

Growing up I was about 5 miles out on final for JFK 22, so we saw everything up close.

Living in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada (YQL)... I have an ongoing number of flights that fly directly, or indirectly over the city. Locally, we get flights from YYC, YEG, and YVR.
A lot of airlines use YQL as a beacon, on their way to and from the Westcoast to Eastern Canada, USA, and Europe. I notice a number of "heavy" Airbus and Boeing products overhead. I think I need some sort of scanner to find out who they all are!

I live in North Dallas, about 7 miles north of DAL and 15 miles east/northeast of DFW. I usually get a crapload of Southwest 737s and some business jets going into Addison Airport, which fly really low over my house. Then I get mostly anything going to the eastern seaboard and the best is to catch the AA 772s/763s, BA 772, LH A343, and cargo jumbos heading to Europe. They're somewhere around 10k feet up by the time they cross my house and those fan jets are running full blast. Nothing better than hearing those fans from a 772 crossing overhead, as its climbing up to cruising altitude.

I live between the approach for CYYZ's 23 and 24R. From my bedroom window planes join the ILS for 23 and are usually at around 3-4,000ft. Most stuff for 23 is easily visable, except for stuff coming from the South such as Mexico and the US. I can also see planes on the downwind for 15L/R i believe from my bedroom window. Outside in my front yard planes for ILS 24R fly over my head at anywhere from 2,500-4,000ft. Usually when they say "Cleared for the ILS 23 or 24R I will hear/see the plane in a minute or two.

I get to see the contrails NW DC10s going from AMS to the US, Air France 777s and A340s from CDG-JFK and various other planes going from Europe to the US. If I have time, I listen to center on the days where lots of contrails are visable. Not sure what VOR their going for though.

My father has an apartment over looking the hudson thats on the 26th floor so from there i can see everything going in or out of LGA perfectly. I can also see JFK but cant see the a/c clearly.

I live under where Airliners start to make their ILS interception for Runway 9 at IAH. I live under the down wind appoach patter (that runs south of the airport) to Runway 27. I use to call it the path of the widebodies since widebodies use to always use that runway. Not any more though  Sad.

I work at Montasia next to willowbrook mall over in the 1960 area. I worked outside. Flights arriving to the 8/9 runways always use to distract me. Espeically on saturdays.

The airport is IAH.

Everything landing in NCE, most days. This means lots of AF A319/A320/A321 from ORY/CDG, a ton of Easyjet 73Gs with the odd 319 thrown in, lots of littlies (737, CRJ, ERJ, ARJ) from every airline in Europe (LCC's included). Only a few heavies, the almost-daily DL 763, some BA 763's in the summer, SV and EK 777's and some rare Saudi VVIP's.

Until recently I lived close enough to BTV to hear the fans on 328s and Saabs starting up in the early mornings. There's a steady stream (by our rural standards, anyway) of Embraers and CRJs on their way to PHL, DCA and ORD with the odd 737 still in the mix.

But by far my favorite part of living near BTV is the sight and sound of the Green Mountain Boys' F16s. We're near the border here (and lately Quebec has been making noises like they might invade Vermont at any minute) so there are lots of patrols and lots of practice... and seeing and hearing an F16 nearby is pretty exhilarating. I doesn't quite put me in a flight scene from "Top Gun" - but maybe in the opening credits of "JAG".

ok now serious...i dont live near factories, but close to GKE and MST, and therefore a lot of Boeing E-3 Sentry's are flying over my house, but also some big cargo birds, such as 747-200s, and seldomly an An-124

I live about three kilometres north of Dublin DUB. When runway 28 is in use, I can see all the aircraft heading for England, Norway, Denmark e.t.c. after departure as they turn from west to east heading (SID LIFFY 2A). When runway 10 is in use, I can see the departures from the front window (SID LIFFY 2E). Also, on clear days, I get various transatlantic traffic at about 35,000 ft crossing above with their big contrails. So, yeah, it is very busy above my house.

Six miles NW of KBUF here.

I get pretty much all the west coast east coast traffic at cruise you could imagine. (BOS/NYC and SEA/PDX/Vancouver, plus Chicago and DTW traffic overhead as well) Also from our windows at night I can watch the C-130s doing military approaches for the 107th at Niagara Falls AFB while at the same time if the winds are out of the SW I can watch the approaches into 23 as they are on their downwind beginning turns to base.

Well, from Halim Airport/WIIH...
All 24 Departures on westbound routes.
After midnight = TriMG 732F and 722F.
Mornings = Pelita F100s, spot charter flights.
I get 06 left hand traffic for jets on base/downwind... Props dont normally go out as far as my house.

For CGK/WIII traffic.
ALL eastbound departures from either 25L/R or 07L/R. North Eastern Departures using W45 also. Other NE departures use the West/North departure vectoring.
From 4:30 there are the Merpati flights, then Kartika Air.
From 0600 there are numerous 732s, 733/4/5, 722, MD82s from Pelita, Merpati, Adam Air, Batavia, Star, Sriwijaya, XpressAir, Jatayu, Airfast, Mandala, Bouraq, Bali Air, Garuda, Lion.

These go on all day...

Early afternoons I get QF departng to PER as they head to Halim VOR before joining heading to Perth.

2130 I see QF to Sydney over my house going for the same route to Halim, then normally onto G222. They're most visible on a clear night because they keep their logo lights on until Halim most of the time... (Wide body with red tail... damn clear!).

Then add night training flights going between Halim and CGK... sometimes on weekends we get the Air Force 707 doing circuits...

My airband gets busy when I'm at home Big grin

Here in Muskego (near MKE) a good amount of air traffic flies over my house. When the winds come out of the east/northeast and planes land on runway 7R I get a lot of traffic over my house. I see lots of midwest 717's, tons of fairchild 328 jets and beechcraft B100's, a decent amount of
NW DC9's and crj's, and all the others like airtran 717's, American eagle rj's, coex rj's, and united express rj's. It's cool at night when the sky is clear and I can watch all the planes line up for landing. Once in a while a few A340's or 747's soar their way northward from time to time from ORD at fairly high altitudes (not sure exacltly how high). Also tons of east-west flights from new england to out west and flights heading to DTW and MSP fly above my house at cruising altitudes. I sure like my house's location!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Flights eastbound out of DTW heading out on the St. Clair Two Departure usually head direct PISTN after departure and therefore right over Rochester, MI. Flights include NW40,NW66,NW52,NW68,NW54,NW48,NW32,NW50, all European flights. Others include LH443, BAW202, and ROyal Jordanian 262. Aircraft types include A343, A342, A333, B772, B763. Those are the flights I recollect off hand, however there are also numerous narrowbody domestic flights eastbound on the St. Clair Two Departure heading direct PISTN that include aircraft from the CRJ up to A319s/A320s.
