Favorite Airline?

Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:07 am

I was just browsing the web and found someone's webpage that talked all about how they love Delta. The person posted tons of Delta pics and made Delta sound like God!

Then it hit me that I really don't have ONE favorite airline. It definitely used to be TWA...But since then I really don't have one that I LOVE!

So I was wondering if most people have one airline they are obsessed with or what...

My favourite airline is Qatar Airways.
I'm Qatari, so some may accuse me of being biased. But it is truly a 5* airline.

Yes, I have an airline that I am obsessed with.
When it comes to airlines, I'll have to go for Horizon Air.
I am beginning to believe that the customer service QX
provides is invincible. A lot of people ask me why a Canadian
airline isn't my favourite. I just say I'm a huge Air Canada fan,
but Horizon is still the best! I (sorta) set up a website dedicated to them.

It has to be Air Tanzania especially because of their 737-200 classics.

PAN AM  bigthumbsup   bigthumbsup   bigthumbsup   bigthumbsup

Flying Tiger for airfreight

There was just something about these two airline. When I see a Pan Am or Flying Tiger Boeing 747 they just look like powerful monster. I will never the site of Pan Am 747, A300, 727 and Dash-7 landing at LAX. If it was not for Pan AM, United and Delta would not be the powerful Airlines they were in the 90's. I just had to finish with these words WHO CAN BEET THE EXPERIENCE! Big grin

I love MEA with all my heart and soul.

I love British Airways with my mind and my heart.

Honourable mention goes to Qantas. Though I've only flown 5 segments on QF, the seeds were sown for what could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Well, DL is an obvious one for me. But, I thought about why and DL is much "like a box of chocolates" because you never know what kind of plane your going to get (crj, erj, e-170, dh-8, md-88/90 and so on)

I also like Copa, probably cause I fly them a good bit and they just do a great job and have great spanking new planes. I just get good service out of Copa.

I also like KLM/AF for the European stock. Good mix of a/c and good service overall.

The service may be due to my Medallion status level but I will take it nevertheless. I even ran late getting to the airport once in CDG and they gave my seat away but once I got there they pulled a passenger off the plane to let me on. That was considerate of them I think, I felt bad for the poor guy they took off but hey "life's like a box of chocolates".

In the same way deltaDAWG appreciates Delta's unpredictability, I have to say my favourite airline is Excel Airways.

A lot of A-netters seem to hate them as they've been having problems with delays lately, but I love the fact that you can arrive at the airport expecting to fly on an MD-80 or a 738 and end up on a 743. If variety is the spice of life, Excel airways must be the chilli !

Hi.

Am I the first one to say that I love any Airline that gets me where I want to go at a good price with a good service??.

My list of Airlines that I have had a bad experince on more than one occasion is more important than anything.

QF - May be a biased opinion, but if I can, I always choose Qantas
AA - Was impressed with their service

I hope to add SQ to this list when I fly with them for the first time in 1 week to NRT.

Northwest
Hawaiian

Recently made some hops on Egypt Air and have zero complaints.
I can't say the same about BA.

Midwest is by a long shot my favorite. I'm glad that as a Wisconsin resident I get to fly them a lot. The people from check-in to the gate to the cockpit and cabin crew are the best part. They really can bring a smile to your face as a passenger. I'm sure all the folks who do the behind-the-scenes work at all of our favorite airlines deserve similar credit. Midwest's reliability is good in my experience, and the service definitely exceeds everyone else's coach in both Signature and Saver service. Other airlines first-class are better, but usually for 3-4 times the price.

My others would be Alaska, Hawaiian, and then Northwest (for their reliability in the markets I fly, not necessarily the service) and Continental (nice service, but EWR's delays get to be a bit much even if not the airline's fault).

I've been lucky enough to have been on many carriers over my life. When I was a kid my brother and I really liked Eastern and Northeast (Yellowbird). Delta was one too. I started flying Braniff in 1975 and that became my number one. My current favorite is Continental. I've been either silver or gold since 1998.

Austrian get honourable mention - they took good care of me when I collapsed on one of their flights... !!!!
