Delta717 And Pacific

Mon Nov 06, 2000 5:55 pm

Delta717: Did the Captain advise you that you were going to do a water departure? I never heard of the Concorde going down in the North Atlantic that you mentioned, and how did you survive the plunge? Pacific: You seem to also have miraculous story of survival in your Cessna. Perhaps you missed the print that said clearly "No Flight Simulator flights!!!!!"

First Flight: Something out of MSP, probably PHX or some stop going to JNB.

Longest Flight: Depends how you want to look at it.

Longest Flight with stops but staying on the aircraft: JNB-CPT-SID-ATL on an SA A346.

Longest Non-Stop Flight: JFK-JNB on an SA B744, SA202.

Longest Flight without getting up: JNB-DKR-JFK, on an SA B744, SA203. Just never had to stretch my legs thanks to the generous upstairs pitch, and never had to use the lavatory.

My first flight (and my most frequently flown) was IAD-SFO on a UA 757-200

My longest flight(s):
UA863 744, SFO-SYD (just landed!) at 14H 32M
LH___ A346, FRA-PVG
UA901 744, FRA-SFO
UA858 777, PVG-SFO

The other day I wanted to fly ORD-HKG (UA's longest flight) but for whatever reason, FS9 took the FSBuild flight plan, set it up, then replicated it so it went between ORD-HKG about 3 times! I can't figure it out.

My first flight was also my longest. IAH-JFK on a Pan Am 707. A little over 3 hours. As a kid I flew on this route about once a year on various aircraft with various airlines. One of these days I would like to hop a 744 and go SFO-NRT. Does anyone know exactly how long that flight is?

I had mine scheduled for 10 Hours 37 minutes. In reality, the flight is only 9:45 - 10:00 hours, but I followed UA's flight time because it builds in the taxi time/estimated ATC congestion at both airports into the actual flying time--that is if you fly with FSPassengers and put in an arrival time.

SFO-NRT is a good easy flight! With sparse ATC interaction over the Pacific (or you can ignore it, like me, during cruise) and go watch a movie, or do something else for the time being  Smile

err.......... well why have you posted this in "Aviation Hobby", the place where you go to discuss flight sim and other simulators?

If you want real trips, then you should have posted it in Civil Av.

I got FS 98 from a friend in early 2000 but did not have a controller so I flew by the keyboard for months until I got tired of ditching the plane each time.
In Sep 2000 I finally managed to land the learjet at KMIA in FS98. FS2000 was purchased when it came out and I quickly learned the GPS and autopilot and with fs2004 my longest flight was from CHS to Perth, Australia in a Posky 747 with unlimited fuel and flying while I was asleep.

First serious flight (I previously just messed around in FS4 and FS5, before getting FS2004): SEA-SJO on the default 777. I got totally lost when I was on finals, I didn't even have a clue where I was. Now I know the arrivals at SJO almost by heart. Big grin

Longest flight to the date: SU321, SVO-LAX. Scheduled for 13 hours, but I made it in around 12 hours and 50 minutes total block time. However I took off about an hour late, at 15:50 LT, while I should have departed at 14:50 LT.

My first flight was on February 1st 2003, LHR-JFK with American Airlines, on their B777-200.

My longest flight was that above, with a flight duration was 7hrs 31mins.

And I flew the same route on friday (Sept 15th 2006), this time with BA, again on a Triple 7, but this flight was slightly shorter, totalling in at 7hrs 25mins.

Damn, I missed that...

Anyway, my first flight was SJO-PTY on LR, September 28th 1987. It was a round trip.

Curiously, about a month later, on October 25th I made another trip down to Panama by coach and returned to on a PTY-SJO flight with CM on October 29th.

My longest flight is AMS-CUR, en route to SJO, with KL. It must have been in late January of 1990, because we were there for the general elections on February 4th.

First flight was a cross-Channel hop in a Bristol 170 with our car on board. I was about a year and a half old.

Longest non-stop flights would have to be LHR-ORD-LHR on BA 744s last year.

Longest flights overall would be four trips between the UK and Singapore/Hong Kong, three in British Eagle, Caledonian and RAF Britannias with several stops in the 1960s and one in an RAF VC-10, Kai Tak - Gan - Akrotiri - Brize Norton, in 1971.

First flight; LGW-BOS in 1986 on NW 747.

Longest flight; Either LHR-CPT in 1993 on BA 744, or FRA-BKK in 2002 and again in 2004 on TG 744

Oh and then there was LIS-GIG in 1991 on TAP L-1011.

My first flight was back in 1993, MH 150 SZB-JED on 744. I was 13 then, the flight departed at midnight, I was separated from my grandmother and I was terribly scared.

My longest non stop flight would be MH 4 KUL-LHR on 744 back in March 2004. A 13+ hours flight. I was not scared anymore. In fact I have become addicted to flying.

My longest flight was from FAT-LAX-LIM-GRU-MAO-BVB (Boa Vista, Brasil) just over 40 hours.
