Disregarding any intended roundtrips and returns to the same airport due to the a/c going tech, it is LAX - SNA on UAX EMB-120 @ 36 mi.
Flown twice within one week - always the late evening flight offering stunning views of the Greater L.A. area.

Runner-ups are SZG - LNZ @ 63 mi and LPA - TFN (by then still called TCI) @ 70 mi.

And a heck of flights between 86 and 150 miles.

During our family trip to DAB, my older brother (who was 9 at the time) swears that we did a LGA-EWR segment on a EA DC-9 back in Dec. 1971. The full itinerary was BOS-LGA-EWR-DAB; the return itinerary was a more conventional DAB-ATL-BOS.

Quoting Xjramper (Reply 24):
Commercially, XJ from TOL-DTW 49nm.

Excluding the above; that would be my shortest flight.

My shortest flight was with Air France from CDG to ORY during a strike by fuel workers at CDG. We flew on to TLS after fueling up in ORY. Can't remember the flying time, but we had great views of Paris at night.

Flight AF7790, 6th July 2005, F-GFKH (A320), 34kms

That was quite a special and rare flight, but the most regular short hop I have taken is the DUB-SNN run at 195kms. Have done that one lots of times.
Most Flown:- G-BUVA (20 Flights), EI-DEB (12 Flights), EI-JFK (11 Flights)

Uhmm... probably MXP-ZRH with one of LX E145s. Don't know about the mileage but we blocked at ZRH 35 mins after having took off from MXP. It was really funny to hear the Captain say, 15 minutes after take-off, "OK folks... we're now starting our descent into ZRH... as you may've noticed it' hasn't been a transatlantic flight!"  Smile

The shortest flight I ever took on an airlines is from MKK (Molokai-Kaunakakai Airport) to LUP (Kalaupapa Airport) which took all but 8 minutes and most of it was circling to line-up with the runway at LUP peninsular. It was on an Air Molokai/Tropics Airlines Cessna 402 in Hawaii USA.

Mine is:

Shortest Flight: 65 km, 0:34 h, Vancouver - Bellingham, 01.06.1981

Harbor (sic) airlines - Banderante as I recall

I've been adding old flights as I find reference to them and I found an even shorter one:

Shortest Flight: 57 km, 0:34 h, Penticton - Kelowna,

Flown by PW (Pacific Western Airlines) in the late '70s in a B737. Flight was a triangle YVR-YYF-YLW-YVR. FlightMemory estimates 34 minutes, but it couldn't have been more than 20, I don't think the seat belt lights were turned off, or the FAs moved from their seats.

I once flew in a Bell 206 that was being positioned from one end of a grassy area to another. It must have been something like 30 seconds and roughly 50 metres.

But as far as fixed-wing airliners go, the shortest hop was from TLL to HEL - 35 minutes block time and a distance of around 100 km.

DPS - AMI, 104 km

I don't recall this flight as I was still a baby, but my mom mentioned it a couple times and I've seen the pictures of me in traditional clothing at the airport. (I had severe asthma at the time and my mom wanted me to go back to Jakarta after she found out I had breathing problems.. so I was there for like a couple of hours on the airport and then left the place.)

Back in mid-1970's Ransome Airways, an Allegheny Commuter carrier, flew multi-stop service between DCA and EWR. I was on a flight that was routed DCA-PHL-PNE-TTN-EWR. The PHL-PNE leg must have been at most 17 miles and we were airborne maybe 10-11 minutes. The flight was on a Nord 262.

MCF-TPA (MacDill AFB-Tampa Intl.) in a C-9A (DC-9). I don't know how far it is, but I do know that we left the configuration at slats extended/flaps 15 after TO and immediately did the After Takeoff, Climb, Descent, and Approach Checks. It was a high-priority airevac mission involving a high-ranking officer's wife. We briefed the approach on the ground in MCF prior to TO, which turned out to be a very good call. I don't recall exactly now, but I presume airborne time was 3 or 4 minutes, maximum, as TPA was landing to the north.
