Flying GLA-MEL On Emirates, Advise Please

Hi all,

I am intending to fly Emirates from Glasgow (GLA) to Melbourne (MEL) through Dubai in August 2008, returning September 2008. I have three questions:

  • Is this the best way to fly from Glasgow to Australia
  • It's showing for 890 GBP total, is this good?
  • Will the A380 be flying any part of this?

I would say so as it involves the least changes. Is it the direct flight from DXB to MEL or is it the stopping flight? Some people find the 777 cramped due to the 10 abreast seating, i personally dont mind it.

It's showing for 890 GBP total, is this good?
I think thats pretty good

Will the A380 be flying any part of this?

Join the Emirates Frequent flyer scheme and you will be able to select your seat after you've booked

Far and away the best routing!!! I'm a regular flyer between MAN and BNE - and hae got to the point of not even comparing EKs prices to anyone else - I'd fly them regardless of price: their timings, in my opinion, somehow reduce the effects of jetlag - which for me is the most important consideration. Food and IFE MUCH MUCH better than Sq, in my experiece, and as for £890 BOOK IT - I work on paying £1000 booking further in advance than you are! As Jrsfpa320 said some people complain about 10 abreast on a 777, but I have to echo him that it has never bothered me.

Personally I would take EK406 (345 non-stop DXB - MEL) outbound and EK405 (777 1 stop) inbound to ensure you arrive fealing best...

LGW - DUB FR1125 16:55 - 18:15 £5 inc. taxes/charges
DUB - BHX FR668 20:35 - 21:35 E5 inc. taxes/charges

GRAND TOTAL: [Drumrool needed] £8.65!!!!!!! inc. taxes and charges

Since n this date every flight out of LGW to DUB is £5 inc. and STN/LTN to DUB is £10 inc. why not go earlier in the moring, and have the day in DUB??? But even if you don't, I challenge ANYBODY to beat this one!!!
