FFP Of An Airline But Never Take That Airline

Fri Jan 04, 2008 6:12 pm

So as above, who is a Frequent Flyer Member of an airline, but always seem to fly another airline and credit the miles to their FFP program?

The question above I guess only works with Star Alliance, SkyTeam and OneWorld

How about Alaska? Unless one is going to PDX or SEA out of PHX, can't go anywhere with them, but you get miles on DL, AA, NW, CO, AF, KL, BA, so yes, Alaska is a good choice for a FFP.

I may join UA just for Star Alliance (I figure it is better to have the miles with them than US).

I am a member of TG Royal Orchid Plus, but mainly fly SQ out of Perth (chose TG FFP because they have 2 year validility on status). But, if I can get cheap fares through the FFP on TG, I would fly them.

Also a member of Aeroplan, but don't collect miles on that, only on TG.

Only two I have done so far is:

  • NW World Perks, which I joined and credited a single AS flight to because UA gave me 3000 EQMs to do it.
  • AA Aadvantage - I had a Citibank credit card with them so I eventually earned about 40,000 miles, but never flew them. Eventually canceled the card and let the miles expire unused.

I flew SQ once, and was so dissapointed have flown EK on my frequent MAN-BNE flights ever since. However, from that one trip I'm a member of SQ KrisFlyer; and use that for Star despite never flying SQ; so I guess that kind off qualifys, though its true that I initially opened the account with the view to flying SQ...

I haven't even flown Virgin America, but I'm a Founding Member of eleVAte.
I've flown a flight on CO, but it was before I joined OnePass

Thus, eleVAte and OnePass have absolutely no flights logged in it. In fact, all the miles in my OnePass account are from online stores Big grin

Same here.

I'm also a member of NW WorldPerks but have nothing in there...all my NW flight activity goes to my Delta account.

Also a member of Air Canada's Aeroplan but have never taken them.

I'm in my third year as a bmi Diamond Club Gold and am yet to credit a bmi flight to them...I probably should though as I have 24 upgrade vouchers to use and they're only valid on bmi flights!

I use the BA Exevutive club, but mostly fly AA within the US. The last time and only time I have flown BA with the Executive club was at the SR grounding, so I could go back to ZRH from LHR!
I also have LX Miles and More, and mostly fly LX/LH around Europe, so that works out.

I used to be really big with Onepass now all of my skyteam flying is with DL. I also have an Early Returns account with F9 but have yet to fly on them. I usually fly US more than UA for some reason but all my miles go to mileage plus.

Now that is a waste. You could have given a friend a free ticket to HI, or gotten a lot of magazines. The Economist is 3200 miles for a year: a sweet deal. This is the same as DL, where I got it, even though I've never flown DL. Or you could have given them to Make-A-Wish...
