Most Airline Flights In A Day?

Fri Jan 25, 2008 12:17 am

Just wondering what the most number of seperate airline flights people have completed in a day. Not including sectors (like Southest Airlines "bus stop" services). I am doing a 5 flight day in March:

STN-NQY Ryanair
NQY-CWL Isles os Scilly Skybus
CWL-BHD FlyBE
BHD-NCL FlyBE
NCL-STN easyJet

I cannot wait. Has anyone done 6 though? I would be interested to hear about that...

I've done 5 aswell

CEB-HKG Cathay Pacific
HKG-YVR Cathay Pacific
YVR-SEA Horizon
SEA-PDX Horizon
PDX-GEG Horizon

Was supposed to go straight to GEG from Seattle, but our direct flight was canceled, lucky me, eh?

NQY-CWL Isles os Scilly Skybus

Nice opportunity to get on a DHC6 in the UK without having to go up to Scotland of fly on the very pricey flights to the Isles of Scilly isn't it! Which date are you doing this flight, I'm also taking it a few days after it starts operating, although the reverse operation.
I do day trips on lots of aircraft frequently, but always leave a lot of time in between, just in case something goes wrong and I'm a little late;

BHX-DUB Ryanair B73-800
DUB-STN Ryanair B737-800
STN-GLA AirBerlin F100
GLA-BHX FlyBe BAe146-300

BHX-BFS BMI Baby B737-500
BFS-STN EasyJet B737-700
STN-GLA Air Berlin B737-700
GLA-BHX FlyBe BAe 146-300

BHX-DUB Ryanair B737-800
DUB-SNN Aer Lingus A330-300
SNN-LPL Ryanair B737-800
LPL-BCN EasyJet B737-700

MAH-BCN GIRJet (Spanair) F100
BCN-MAD Audeli (Iberia) B757-200
MAD-LGW Aerolineas Argentinas (Air Plus Comet) B737-500
LGW-NQY-PLH Air Southwest DHC8-300

LYR-TOS SAS Braathens B737-500
TOS-BOO SAS Braathens B737-500
BOO-TRD SAS Braathens B737-500
TRD-OSL SAS Braathens B737-500

(Outbound as well, although the last flight to LYR took off just after midnight)

I have taken 5 flights, but as two of the stops were very much like bus stop offs, it doesn't really count as the others do;

PDL-FLW SATA Air Acores BAeATP
FLW-CVU SATA Air Acores D228
CVU-HOR SATA Air Acores D228
HOR-TER SATA Air Acores D228
TER-PDL SATA Air Acores BAeATP

I had a ORD-EWR flight canx and was offered:

ORD-CIN
CIN-CLE
CLE-DFW
DFW-BOS
BOS-LGA

however declined due to time constraints (26hrs with an overnight at DFW) and bought a ORD-BOS ticket and tagged it onto an existing BOS-JFK ticket that I had.

I did nine once.

Started in LAS at 0700 and ended in LAS at around 2300

LAS-SBA Skywest Metroliner
SBA-LAX Skywest Metroliner
LAX-SNA Skywest Metroliner
SNA-LAX Skywest Metroliner
LAX-IPL Skywest Metroliner
IPL-LAX Skywest Metroliner
LAX-SAN Skywest EMB-120
SAN-LAX Skywest EMB-120
LAX-LAS America West 737-300

We probably could have done at least two more legs, but we stayed in SNA for a few hours, visiting a friend of ours.

I flew on the DH6 a week ago! It was truly terrific. One of the qualities was that there was no cockpit door, so you could clearly see and hear everything. I guess that won´t be in the case in the UK, but hey: at least you´ll still have the tiny interior and the 2-foot-high windows.  Big grin It´s well worth experiencing.

After playing with Priceline, I´ve managed to find 8 flights in 1 day for $466/GBP233 (funnily enough, if you flew to NYC rather than back to LAS, it´d only be $31/GBP15.50 more, although it´d still be 8 flights). Obviously to get the most flights per day it makes sense, time-wise, to get connecting flights with the same airline. Anyway, here´s the list so far:

LAS at 0601, A320 series
SFO at 0730

SFO at 0820, E120
MOD at 0905

MOD at 0925, E120 (would be rather concerned about a 20-minute connection, although the site is allowing it and it would be on the same machine back)
SFO at 1004

SFO at 1050, 735
SAN at 1219

SAN at 1336, SF3
LAX at 1425

LAX at 1635, SF3
SBA at 1722

SBA at 2030, E120
LAX at 2128

LAX at 2245, 320 series
LAS at 2358

Now, you could probably get an even better price and you might well be able to fit in an extra leg or two if you played around with it - and that I will do.

Could do LAS-SFO-MOD-SFO-SAN-SFO-SMF-SFO-LAX-SBA in 1 day, 0601 out, 2256 back. 9 flights.

Yeah, can't wait to fly the DHC6, really looking forward to it. Flying on 13th March. Tightest connection on the day is in Cardiff (1hr 25mins), but that shouldn't be much of a problem.

I've actually just booked my first two multi flight day trips. The one on 13th March is the first of the two. The second is on the 27th March, and is booked specifically to fly out of LHR Terminal 5 on first day of operations. Flights as follows:

BA1382 LHR-MAN A320-200
3W706 MAN-IOM DHC8
NM308 IOM-LBA Metro III
BD421 LBA-LHR ERJ.145

Looking forward to that one as it will be my first flight on the Metro. Trying to arrange a multi-stop trip to Channel Islands for near future. Trying for two inter-island flights each on Aurigny and Blue Islands.

This doesn't count as one day but.... did this in one stretch WITHOUT GETTING OFF THE A/C. ( with the exception of the tech stops, fueling, transit checks, and doing the deed in the airport bathroom so I didn't have to use the lav )

ATL - HHN
HHN - KWI
KWI - DXB
DXB - KUL
KUL - BKK
BKK - OKO
OKO - EDF

Had 36 hours in Anchorage to wash clothes, sleep in a real bed and eat non airline food AND THEN......

EDF - DNA
DNA - SIN
SIN - OTBH
OTBH - BAH
BAH - KWI
KWI - SNN
SNN - POB
POB - ATL

Total this trip was 17 days if memory serves me correct. Don't really recall because it seemed like an ETERNITY.

August 2000, Two ticket sets mandated by my employers fly-the-cheapest-seat travel policy. At the time lived in GSO, wife met plane in GSO with a box lunch and fresh clothes, threw in a hug and off I went winding east and north in US Air's quagmire of hubs. Chairmen's status made the day easier back when USAir dominated PIT.

GEG-SEA - Forgot plane type, small twin prop US Air partner _ Start at 0 dark thirty
SEA-PIT - US Air, 757
PIT -GSO - US Air, 737-300
GSO - CLT - US AIR, F100
