Great Aviation Quotes

After landing, the FA usually does his or her's speech. Normally, some are written on paper, but some break away from the paper and make up something clever.

There are even some aviation jokes I've heard. We want to hear some of your jokes and quotes about aviation. Sometimes, I help some of my peers, friends, and family book and find great amenities for their trip. I usually give them a gift from candy to vouchers (and no I'm still not getting paid  Confused ). It would be nice to hear some quotes I could tell them when I meet with them. Here are some I use:

I was doing a project where we have to plan a road trip from Norfolk, VA to San Diego, CA. I was disappointed that we couldn't fly so I added this to the title page of my project:

"I'd rather be flying"-Anynomous

Here's one I made up:

"The only time rubber should meet with asphalt is on the final landing approach, taxi, and takeoff"

And here's an aviation joke I heard:

"The next time you feel the urge to go zooming around in a pressurized metal tube at fantastic speeds, we hope you think of us here at [airline name]. Thank you for choosing [airline name] and we welcome you to [city name]"

Initially I was going to suggest you may have this one wrong as the Sir Walter Raleigh that most folks associate with is the sixteenth century explorer that died in 1618 see:

Now I know that man had dreamt of flight for centuries before it was achieved but I couldn't help but wonder how he could make such a specific reference to an aeroplane or indeed know that the person who would fly one would be called a pilot at least 285 years before the Wright Brothers flight?

However.....

Upon some digging (I really have too much time on my hands this week!) I came up with the following Sir Walter Raleigh:

Saw that on a bumper sticker in Jonny's pizza on Virginia Ave the day Eastern died. Some how I still ended up working in aviation?!?

I already listed that in Reply 12, but I wanted to bring up a good point about this quote. Some people say Da Vinci did not actually say/write this, and that it's source is anonymous. Does anyone have any information on this?

Oh, sorry, I haven't noticed that.

It might be anonymous, because I am sure that there are a lot of people which could agree with this. I saw a similar version in SAA Sawubona in-flight mag (it was an ad, thought).
