List Of Longest Flights By Airline

Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:16 pm

I got a chance to fly HKG-ORD back in January, and after doing some comparing, it looks like it is the longest flight on UA. So I was wondering, what would the longest flight be on every major airline?

And if I am wrong on UA, please let me know

BTW, according to the Great Circle Mapper website, http://gc.kls2.com/

ORD-HKG is 7794nm

1. ORD-DEL
2. ORD-PVG
3. JFK-NRT
4. DFW-NRT
5. ORD-NRT

I was thinking primarily in that direction....

I guess you could argue that if the flight number is the same, then it is indeed the longest flight even though it makes stops. So I would except both!

For EI:-

DUB-LAX at 4,502nm (A330-200)

Then just some corrections for units... (figures below were statute miles as opposed to nautical miles)

Quoting Jawake (Thread starter):
ORD-HKG is 7794nm

ORD-HKG at 6,773 nm

Quoting Jawake (Reply 6):
looks like 7484nm

ORD-DEL at 6,503 nm

Quoting Jawake (Reply 6):
looks like 7799nm

JFK-BOM at 6,777 nm

Then there are two similar options on BA...

Quoting Fly2CHC (Reply 7):
BA - LHR-SYD

LHR-SIN-SYD at 9,274 nm (B777-200ER)
LHR-BKK-SYD at 9,228 nm (B747-400)

I am taking the B777 route through SIN again next week! Can't wait!  Smile
Most Flown:- G-BUVA (20 Flights), EI-DEB (12 Flights), EI-JFK (11 Flights)

Just like PHL-OAK wasn't correct for WN, this is not correct for JetBlue either.

Although BOS-SAN is far, BOS-OAK and BOS-SFO are further (the latter being the longest at 2,700nm according to WebFlyer). I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a longer A320 route in the world!

Interesting - or perhaps not - BOS-SAN is 2,580 nm, the same exact distance as JFK-SFO per WF.

Hmm, with their new 777L, Delta could do JFK-SYD (9950sm). And if they overfly SAN so as to avoid Mexican airspace, it adds just 6 miles (9956sm). What's the range of the 77L? Could it be done?

AC could do YYZ-SYD as well. No?

VS's is LHR-NRT (A346).

VS's LHR-HKG is longer, as (obviously) is their 1stop LHR-HKG-SYD

BA's is LHR-SIN non-stop or LHR-MEL if you are talking about one-stoppers. (744)

BA suspended service to MEL at least a couple of years ago. They only codeshare on QF now.
