Virgin America Trans-Con In F?

I flew Virgin America for the first time last weekend LAX-SFO-LAX in F and was VERY impressed. The seats and IFE were great and so was the service and the snack. It was a very "hip" and relaxing atmosphere all the way through.

It was so good, in fact, that I am considering taking them on my next trip to JFK.

On their trans-con service in F, are there full meals? it didnt appear that they have a full galley on the aircraft.

can anyone answer this?

Yes, there is. I took it IAD-LAX in November and loved it. Three little appetizers, choice of hot meal, three little desserts. Someone posted pics of the meal service on a trip report a few months ago.

I've flown transcon on both United PS and Virgin America, albiet in Y.
Do consider United PS.

United PS Y vs Virgin America Y ............... United PS (big time)
United PS J vs Virgin America F ................ Virgin America (unless you are a UA FF like me)
United PS F vs Virgin America F ............... United PS

I'd disagree here. On UA PS, you get 34" of pitch (3" more than normal, but less than E+ on every other plane in UA's fleet) and AC power.

Virgin has the AC power as well plus personal IFE (pitch is only 32" but still...)

If those things matter to you, then yes, advantage UA. If the person has no care in the world for those things and is just choosing best soft product head to head UA vs VX, then I'd say VX wins.

Or if you're over six feet tall, then those extra 2 inches mean a helluva lot more than purple lights.

There are meals, yes. Glad you enjoyed VX!
