Quoting Holte (Thread starter):

I have flown DL's B/E in B767 and also in T7 about 2.5 years ago from CDG to ATL, but my employer paid for it.
I found the flight very comfortable (even the seats) and also staff was attentive. At that time, I found DL's B/E to be minimum on par with other carriers across the Atlantic Ocean (compared to their respective Business Class).

If it is worth the money for you is something only you can judge either by earlier experience or by actually trying them out. I, for myself, would not hesitate to fly with them again if the overall costs are okay (and "okay" varies by personal judgement) and not siginificantly higher than on competitors (add to that, in my case: timings due to necessary connections from my homebase).

Constructive question: Are you looking for the extra seating comfort that comes with B/E or are you more focussed on the higher service levels ?
In case you have the same problem as me, who no longer can sit in Coach for extended periods, I would recommend to fly in B/E.
OTOH, shelling out twice or thrice the coach-fare just for some better food/meal-service (and access to a lounge etc.) would be overkill.

I'd say compare it cost wise to BA via LGW as Old Club World is still ahead of DL's product on the 767's IMHO. If there's no difference I'd go BA myself.

As far as I am concerned, the DL Business Elite is really nothing more than a larger seat and somewhat improved service for an enormous premium. DL international Y is not uncomfortable at all from what I have experienced. I flew ATL-DUB in March and was pleasantly surprised with the Y product, but IMHO, Business Elite looked paltry for a "business class product". Save your money, it's just a little flight anyway. Buy something nice on your trip rather than rent some time in a really not all that amazing cabin.

I'd like to chime in and mention there's the exciting 3 seconds when one can walk on the red carpet for the "Breezeway Boarding."

In my opinion, if you can't fly BA, or AF out of ATL then I'd definitely take DL's BIZ E.
I feel it's better than what AA & UA offer in terms of onboard service and such. It's all a matter of opinion.

I regularly fly DL's BE to/from the UK & mainland Europe. I've probably taken 20 roundtrip in the last three years in BE. Is it worth the money if the money's coming out of my pocket? NO. Is it worth spending miles for the upgrade? Yes.

The advantage of buying a Y ticket and upgrading to BE is that you earn award miles at the BE rate and Plat mileage bonus also. So the net miles cost of a BE upgrade is quite low.
