Aviation Related License Plates

Wed Sep 17, 2008 11:25 pm

How many of you have aviation related license plates either by choice or luck of the draw? Personally by chance, I received a license plate with the letters containing DXB. One time driving on I-75, a car passed me with the plate reading ILS 28R. Others I have seen are N AV8OR and BOEING. So the question is what license plates do you have or have you seen with either airport codes or other aviation related theme?

I have seen several vehicles around town with an AOPA sticker in the back window and the license plate has a valid FAA N-number on it (presumably their aircraft's registration)  Wink

My plate has my company name ... XXXX AV8N, although I have to replace it in state that only allows 7 letters, so I will have XXXX AV8

Tacky, I'm sure, but what the heck  Wink

RAMPRAT
IFLYJETS
747CAPT

...still wondering what I would get for my car if I ever got a specialized plate.  scratchchin

My son had LEAR60 on his car for several years. That reflected his first type rating. He now flys a Challenger 300, and for some reason he no longer has the LEAR60 plates.  scratchchin

I have posted this one before in a similar thread in non-av (not my plate).

An SAA captain I know has AIRBUS as the plate on his Audi TT. Another SAA F/O has LUV2FLY.

Mine is BOE 787.

I wanted BOE 737 but it was taken so I got that instead. Hope I didn't inherit the 787 "delay bad luck" because someone drove into it whilst it was parked.

I don't have an aviation license plate, but my plate frame says "I'D RATHER BE FLYING". When I was stuck in traffic on the 405 freeway southbound by Sunset blvd once, a trucker next to me yelled over "I hear ya man, I'd rather be flying too!" Just made me laugh.
