Question Regarding A Trip To Sydney?

Sun Nov 16, 2008 1:38 pm

Can any of the ausies in this forum tell me which restaurant to go to in Sydney?

Nov 24th, we are going to Sydney Opera House for a play and afterwards planning for a nice dinner. Could you recommend a very nice place with good food that is representative and with a good wine list?

From my research, the Sydney Cafe, Forty One, Boathouse, and Guillame came to mind.

Full trip reports will be coming shortly.

Thanks!

Rockpool - by Neil Perry. This is a mainly seafood restaurant and Neil Perry designes a lot of Qantas dishes. It is very close to the Opera House, and is regarded as one of Sydney's Best although I havent been for a while now.

07 George St, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia‎ - (02) 9252 1888‎ - About a 10 minute walk from the Opera House.

Hope this helps.

Hi all

Any good Fish and chips shop will do. You can eat well in any part of the world but you will only find a decent Fish & chips in OZ.

That and meat pies are the only thing I miss from Australia  Big grin
These are my principles but if you don't like them I have others

You might want to consider Tetsuya's located at 529 Kent Street, SYDNEY NSW 2000 .

Tetsuya’s Restaurant opens for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 6.00pm and for lunch Saturday only from 12noon. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning +61 2 9267 2900 or faxing +61 2 9262 7099

This place is quite pricey. Tetsuya's ten-course degustation menu is $195* (GST inclusive) per person,

If that is not quite for you, some of the restaurants on the King Street Wharfs/ Cockle Bay area are also quite good. This is on the eastern side of Darling Harbour.
