Norway - Cuba, Need Help

Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:29 pm

Hi,

I need some advice about the cheapest way to fly from Norway to Cuba (OSL - HAV) and back.

There are no direct routes except for charter flights, so I'm practically asking of the cheapest round trip between any major European airport and HAV, but I can also accept a stopover in any South American city if that makes is cheaper.
Tickets from OSL to the departure airport in Europe is no problem.

Travel dates are: Going out 9. July and coming home 22. July. (2009)

Price is the primary factor, and dates can maybe be flexible.

Thanks in advance.

Look into flying AF via CDG ...

Other options would by out of MAD.

Thanks for your reply HT. I've checked it out, and all I can find is AirFrance (CDG), KLM (AMS) and Iberia (MAD), BUT they are all a bit expensive.

We are talking over €1000..

Unrealistic expecting fares below this between Europe and Cuba?

If you're feeling a little adventurous you could try the cubana website:
http://www.cubana.cu/home/

7/9 - 7/22 (arr. 23rd) from Paris Orly shows Euro 612 (includes tax and the IL-96)

They're also advertising Paris-Hav for Euro 290 not incl. tax starting May with departures on thursdays and returns on saturdays. Taking the tax from my initial search you'd still end up somewhere around Euro 532 though.

Alternatively, you could also try Air Europa LGW-MAD-HAV which showed Euro 699 return all incl.

I'm not familiar with either of the above, just a thought  Smile

You also can try to find a cheap fare into CUN and then fly CUN - HAV seperately.
Also CCS - HAV is an option, but I have my doubts if those combinations will be much cheaper than what you have seen sofar.
I am not sure, if MEX is another alternative.

Virgin Atlantic fly LGW-HAV, though their flights seem to be in the region of £700GBP in July.

Has it got to be Havana? You could hop on a charter flight from London or Manchester to Varadero in July for less than £300GBP return with Thomson. I don't believe it's far to Havana, and you should certainly have some money left to make the journey!

Thanks Mark,

This is very interesting! It doesn't have to be Havana, but some place central on Cuba with connections.
Varadero with Thomson is really a great option! I'll check it out

EDIT:
I don't find any Thomson flights to Varadero in the summer season from London. But they fly to Holguin, but that's 700GBP..

How about Air Berlin? OSL-DUS-HAV or Veradero?

Hi!!

Just checked out www.condor.de and for the dates of out 13JUL in 20JUL they are quoting a trip price of 678.00 EUR incl. of taxes.

Also check the Martinair and (if you are daring and not pressed for time ie. scheduled departures) the Cubana web sites.

Will be fun to know how you finally did it!!

Best of luck to you.

Afraid thats not an option anymore, as Cuba has ceased flights to and from Mexico with the Swine Flu problem.

I just checked AC. They don't fly to OSL, but if you could get to London or FRA, they could take you to HAV via YYZ. The fare from FRA is about NOK10.400

Thank you all for the good feedback and help on this one!  Smile

I think I'll go with AF, Air Berlin or Cubana (the last one I seriously have to think about, but it sure will be an adventure!)

Thanks again!
