These flights can't be booked on the internet...You will have to call reservations to book these goodies!!! There are many more examples, but I will list two here:

CMH-
BNA-
MCI-
OKC-
DAL-
SAT-
SAN-
OAK-
SEA
SMF-
CLE...5 stops!!! Same plane, no connections..Flight 3166..Routing:
SMF-
SAN-
PHX-
TPA-
JAX-
BNA-
CLE
I worked flight 3166 last night and actually had one passenger that was on the entire routing from
SMF-

I flew on a plane out of midway last summer. The fa listed the cities it stopped in. It went all the way to the west coast and ended in
MCI. It was something like
MDW-
SLC-
GEG-
SEA-
OAK-
SAN-
MCI.

I find that often the
WN FAs announce the cities that the plane is bound for so those continuing on the flight can be counted. Do pilots and FAs prefer the
WN point-to-point flights or the usual hub-spoke-hub system?

Anyone know the minimum one-way fare for
CMH-
BNA-
MCI-
OKC-
DAL-
SAT-
SAN-
OAK-

SWA will not book it to you on

I know as
WN employees we could non rev on it and stay on it, especially when we have option of riding 4th.
I remember when we had 4 stops
SAN-
STL going via
PDX,
SMF,
OAK and
LAX something like that, and it was a-500 too! I was so tempted to ride 4th on it all the way! haha

Probably they would get more complaints from people who didn't look well at the total travel time when they booked, why the trip takes so long. Also these flights are more expensive. It's also cheaper for them to get people from A to B with the least connections and detours if there are seats available, the multistops come into view when these flights are full or not available.

Given that it's not easily bookable, it's more a way to save flight numbers than anything else. It's not a bad way to get from
ELP to
PHX or from
OAK to
LAX.

Not sure how you mean counted. If you mean for FAA/Passengers boarded for DOT, they are not counted for each segment. It is considered ONE passenger to fly
BUF-
LAX even though they are stopping in
MDW,
PHX and
LAS.
If I misunderstood then never mind!

If a
FA is riding the 4th, do you like them to help out? On Flight 640 yesterday (
BWI-
DTW) There were the three main
FA, and the 4th in a SWA uniform handed out the snacks. I wasn't sure if she was just jumpseating and helping out or if she was actually working.

This happens alot. Even with an employee not in uniform.

Well, ANY employee at
WN may ride 4th, not just flight attendants.
Usually we were obligated to at least help pass out the snack/peanuts on the shorter flights to help the F/A pass the drinks out faster.
Typically on longer segments, the crew can handle it.
It is a flight by flight basis, I always offered to help out if I was riding 4th and if they accepted my help I would help if they didn't need it then they didn't.

She could possibly be commuting, or
DH if she was in uniform. Either way no she was not part of the active flight crew, but as you noticed was still just helping the crew out.

This
WN flight no longer operates the way it did but in the fall of 2007, the routing of flight 2906 was:
PVD-
PHL-
JAX-
TPA-
MSY-
DAL-
ABQ-
SAN-
SJC
The
PVD origin was Saturday only, the other days it started at
PHL. This had to be one of the longest multi-stop flights
WN ever did.
I don't know if you could have booked the whole thing over the phone back then, but online the longest legs it would let you book was
JAX-
ABQ and
MSY-
SJC.

Lemonkitty,
Seriously, we have always had consecutive numbered flight routings.....this in no way means they are, or ever were, intended as a through flight. At one time we had a flight that went
LAX to
SAN......via
OAK,
SEA,
BOI,
RNO,
LAS. Except for round trips between the same city pairs, you could easily have one aircraft keep the same flight number throughout it's entire day - and end up right back where it started. But it's still not a through flight.
