Well folks I am going to buck my trend of only adding flights with 4 or more stops in honor of Southwest Airlines new service to BOS, which started August 16...

AUS-BOS...3 stops!!! Flight 139..Routing:

AUS-DAL-OKC-BWI-BOS

This evening this aircraft (N786SW, a 737-7H4) turned BOS-MDW-PHX-BUR as flight
1050...

Yes folks this aircraft flew 7 flights today...I have seen as many as 11 flights in one day for a particular aircraft, and as little as 2 legs for others...

Welcome to the Southwest family Boston!!!

An impromptu flight cancellation by YV (flying as "United Express") once left my wife and I stranded in ELP on the day after Christmas, so I called 1-800-I-FLY-SWA from my cell phone at the airport.

The ticket agent on the phone was sympathetic, and found two seats available from ELP-PDX...

We were booked on the next available flight to PDX, which was a 10 AM departure. The routing was ELP-LAX-SJC-RNO-PDX (!). All the same flight number...we didn't get into PDX until 4 PM  Smile

Oh, and the TSA gave us the "extra-special" treatment, our checked bags all had TSA inspection notices, and we were SSSS'ed on our WN boarding passes  sigh

Lemonkitty- HOW are these Customers getting these itineraries?

Southwest.com is not selling these at all, I have looked them up.

I see them on swalife obviously, easy to do as a non rev.

Are these multi stops bookable using the phone reservation?

LK,

I am in the Los Angeles area in October. I'll have a free day on Sat, 24th. Are you able to tell me any unusual routings for that day?

Thanks for your help!

James.

Here is one of my favorites from the current (Aug thru Oct) flight schedule:

This route does not change flight numbers the entire day - departing MSP at 0700 and terminating in SFO at 2220:

MSP-MDW-BWI-MCO-MSY-HOU-AUS-LAS-SFO

and another one that would be fun to take (this is a single aircraft and changes flight numbers twice, once at SMF and again at ONT:

(Flight 3545) MSP-DEN-PHX-SMF (Flight 2469) SMF-ONT (Flight 2556) ONT-SJC-RNO-BOI-GEG

I noticed a lot of these crazy through flights started around 2006, when the Wright Exemption allowed through flights allow more direct routing through DAL. One flight I worked last year was SEA-LAS-AUS-, and flight continued on to DAL-ABQ-PHX-OAK. No one from SEA would do that whole itinerary, but it allows through to/from service from DAL.
