Quoting MadameConcorde (Reply 1): For those flying from CDG we will be First to Fly the AF380 to LHR. Less risk of a 321 as this is the launch day. |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 2): While I am obviously flying LHR-CDG-LHR merely for the 380, I can't say I am worried... |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 2): You seem exceptionally worried about the potential substitution! While I am obviously flying LHR-CDG-LHR merely for the 380, I can't say I am worried... |
Quoting MadameConcorde (Reply 3): What will you say if they come up with a 321 on the day of flight though? |
Quoting MIAspotter (Reply 4): If they sub it for an A32S then I can just cancel, I think Nighthawk said that this is a special tariff and we can get a refund |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 5): Indeed, I don't really see the point of worrying about it - we cannot control it - but that's just me. |

Quoting wolbo (Reply 8): You can add me to the list. Decided to join the A380 party. CDG - LHR on Friday 16 July 2010 LHR - CDG on Sunday 18 July 2010 |
Quoting akhmad (Reply 9): Fellows, I have got the following reply from AF though in French. BONJOUR / AIR FRANCE VOUS INFORME QUE LES VOLS AF1980 ET AF1981 PREVUS EN AIRBUS A380 NE POURRONT ETRE EFFECTUES PAR CET APPAREIL CE 12JUILLET 10 / LES VOLS SERONT OPERES PAR UN AIRBUS A321 / VOUS POUVEZ RECONTACTER AIRFRANCE AU 3654 AFIN DE REPROGRAMMER UNE NOUVELLE DATE DE VOYAGE SI VOUS LE SOUHAITEZ / AIR FRANCE VOUS PRESENTE SES EXCUSES POUR LA GENE OCCASIONNEE |
Quoting MIAspotter (Reply 11): Did they send you this Email automatically? |
Quoting vandenheuvel (Reply 13): I will be there no matter what. Even if that means I'm on the first solo A.net meet. Too bad on the return leg I picked the A321 over the ATR. If only I knew. |
Quoting akhmad (Reply 9): The rebooking option is quite tempting. However since we would be coming together on 12th July anyway, we could make the best of our A.net gathering without any A380 experience. What do you think? |
Quoting MadameConcorde (Reply 14): If you can change your other ticket, you should join the 12 June flight. |
Quoting vandenheuvel (Reply 16): Yet these flights have become a part of my holiday plans. I can no longer exclude them. The A321 still beats the Eurostar |
Quoting MIAspotter (Reply 4): I am not worried either. If they sub it for an A32S then I can just cancel, I think Nighthawk said that this is a special tariff and we can get a refund. MIAspotter. |
Quoting MadameConcorde (Reply 6): You are perfectly right about this. I had no idea that the LHR legs could be refunded, in fact if the flights are only 3 Euros and the service chager 1 Euro the rest is taxes. Taxes are always refundable if the tickets are not used so we will get the major part of what we paid refunded in case of a 321. I can then spend the day in Paris! |
Quoting MIAspotter (Reply 4): If they sub it for an A32S then I can just cancel, I think Nighthawk said that this is a special tariff and we can get a refund. |
Quoting Reifel (Reply 18): Actually I think this is not correct. Although they promoted a A380 they clearly stated on the website that a aircarft substitution is possible. So sticking by the rules you have to accept the substitution, although it's a special offer for the A380. You may however refund unused taxes, see below. |
Quoting Reifel (Reply 18): That said AF seems to be quite nice. They informed passengers by email about the substitution being well aware that passengers booked especially becuase of the A380. Allowing a free rebooking to any other A380-operated date shows two things: a) That they didn't planned this and regret the need of changing on this specific date and more important: b) This is a signal that most of the other services should remain a A380. |
Quoting Reifel (Reply 21): By the way, thanks to the guy who posted the hint with the seat reservation. Just made mine. Although I'm flying on one of the rather "not popular" dates (15 aug), the upper deck was already full on the way back from LHR to CDG. I will try to lower deck on this segment I guess.... |
Quoting Reifel (Reply 18): That said AF seems to be quite nice. They informed passengers by email about the substitution being well aware that passengers booked especially becuase of the A380 |
Quoting ba319-131 (Reply 23): All in all, not impressed wit the way AF have handled the change to something they are advertising. |
Quoting MadameConcorde (Reply 26): There is no more possibility of booking them for 80 EUR the return ticket price is now 209 EUROS all taxes included. The flights still exist as A380 with the original flight numbers but the ticket cost has gone up. |
Quoting ba319-131 (Reply 23): I'm now booked to fly 3/7. |
Quoting Brewox (Reply 24): I am also on this flight, anyone else joining us? |
Quoting akhmad (Reply 28): Quoting ba319-131 (Reply 23): I'm now booked to fly 3/7. Quoting Brewox (Reply 24): I am also on this flight, anyone else joining us? I would love to but will stick to 12th July. I hope we can meet up some other time. |
Quoting Reifel (Reply 21): Nevertheless I'm not convinced that by law they're obliged to do that. I'm not a law expert, but let's face it: Everyone is advertising with certain things, i.e. "we have the newest IFE", "fly our new flat seat business", "fly with Lufthansa on the A380 to Beijing". In the end, if you get the old business class, the old IFE or no IFE as all, if the A380 is substituted by a boring regular Airbus, well than you will not be able to cancel free of charge... |
Quoting ba319-131 (Reply 23): A call to the reservations has resulted in a free re-booking to another date of an A380 operated flight, I'm now booked to fly 3/7. |
Quoting Brewox (Reply 24): A call to the reservations has resulted in a free re-booking to another date of an A380 operated flight, I'm now booked to fly 3/7. I am also on this flight, anyone else joining us? |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 38): I don't suppose any A.netter has an email address specifically for Ibis' CDG Airport/Terminal hotel? Their website has a phone number, but no email address (which is unsurprising). |
Quoting goldorak (Reply 39): There is an e-mail address for this hotel on Accor web site : [email protected] |
Quoting GAIsweetGAI (Reply 44): Well, I just booked a CDG-LHR-CDG trip on June 20. I'll be trying both decks out. |
Quoting MadameConcorde (Reply 48): How will we all meet before we go on the flights? |
