I’m interested in seeing everyone’s “airport life list”.

Everyone - from a new, two airport list to the life-long regular flyer’s list;
from a one region specialist to the world-wide traveller. Please contribute!

I think these will make an interesting read, as everyone’s list reveals a short, coded history of a person.

>I’d appreciate following the following rules:

• Organize your list by grouping all “A” airports together, and so on, down the alphabet. *

• A mention of wether you are in the business (commercial pilot, FO, FA; anyone who flies for a living) or a fare-paying business &/or leisure traveller.

• No half-hearted attempts please, such as “Off the top of my head...” or “I’m sure there’s more...”. Give it some time and publish it when your reasonably sure its complete.

•I do think stop-overs where one remains on-board should count. The rule is you must take off &/or land at an airport to be able to add it to your list.

• No updates on your list until the first of the year (say, the first couple of weeks in the new year) when everyone can revise their list to include new airports they’ve flown the year before and supply anecdotes. (I’m trying to avoid lists repeated after every trip).

• Please add up the total number of your airports at the end of your list.

The most "new" airports I've picked up in a single trip was when I went to Alaska in 2009. My itinerary was GSO-IAD-SEA-FAI-SEA-ORD-GSO and a KC-135 flight at EIL. IAD, SEA, FAI, ORD and EIL were all "new" airports for me.

Well, it is mostly business. I am a pilot, so loads of travelling for work. And due to staff travel I did many short trips.

Many of the IATA "Q" coded airports are for general aviation with no scheduled commercial operations at present. That certainly makes it hard for most travellers to have an airport under Q in their list.

Many years ago, before Changi was opened, the main international airport in Singapore was Paya Lebar. Today the code SIN apllies to Changi and the code QPG applies to Paya Lebar. Before Changi opened I travelled from and through Paya Lebar on a number of occasions, but I think the code then was SIN, so I have not listed it under QPG in my previous post as that code applies to the Singapore Airforce airbase that now occupies the site. However, if the OP allows the entry, I can happily claim to have landed at an airport with a code commencing "Q".

Thanks for the list, KGRB! Have wondered what the code for Sturg. airport is. Wish they had commercial service, would save me a lot of driving to GRB. Years ago there was prop jet service to ORD but that didn't last long.

I live a thirty minute drive north of Sturgeon Bay and have always wanted to see Door County from the air...(aside from the one time returning from Europe when the whole county was distantly visible at dusk). I assume you flew into SUE in the Summer? Did you have a chance to fly around the north end of the county?
