to visit my Grandparents shortly after being born - the Trident 3Bs were still in use on all the BA SuperShuttle routes until the 757s took over in the mid-80s.

I am too young to remember my first flight, as I was an infant, but all I know is that it was a DL 757 from CVG-FLL in 1993.

I'll have to check that with my mother, but my first ever flight has to be LIL-CEQ on Air Inter in the late 70s. If I'm not misteken it was on an A300...

I only list flights since my first solo trip, it was in 2000 and I flew CDG-MUC on a LH 737 (-300?), connecting to EWR.

Ironically, my most recent flight was BOS-SNN, although on a slightly different aircraft - an A330-200!

First flight was on Midway Airlines in 1998 from BOS-RDU on a Fokker 100 I believe.

Mine was when iam around a year old, CGK-DPS flying with Garuda Indonesia on its ancient B747

P.S.: Apparently I cried throughout the flight even though the air hostess got me a bottle of warm milk. Made life hell for all pax onboard. And nowadays I get pissed off with crying babies on flight 

The first one I think I was 2 and don't remember but it was YYZ-KIN which turned into a red-eye do to snow and I apparently cried for 3:45 of the 4 hours. This was 1986 so I don't know what airline it was, I'm guessing AC but it could have been JM

The first one I remember was YYZ-KIN on AC or JM on a 762 or a 741 or 742 (whatever AC was operating in the late 80's early 90's) I remember being around 7 and getting to see the cockpit and was allowed to go up to the top of the 747 to see it.

I know I'm not alone here but I would appreciate a cockpit trip so much more now. Damn terrorists  .

Mine was August 2001 on NW from BOS-MSP on I want to say an A320. That is where the bug bit me!

My first flight, at 2 months old, was on a Trans-Canada Connie YUL-TPA.

The earliest flight I can remember taking is ORD-ISP on an AA F100 in July of 1992. If flown before then, but I was way too young to remember what airlines/cities/equipment.

3 years old on a UA 733 MDW-MCO in 1992 during their brief return to MDW after the collapse of ML before WN and TZ took over.
My vivid memories are that I was scared senseless and only let go of my mom's arm for my mcdonald's happy meal.
The first flight I actually enjoyed was a few years later on DL ORD-MCO

I don't remember the flight because I was barely 1 years old at the time but I do know the flight...

No idea -- The first flight I remember was US Air from one of the NYC airports to Orlando in 1987. This flight only stands out because it was my first time to disney at age 4. I do remember that it was 3x3 so maybe a 727, 737??

My first actual flight (and many thereafter) which I don't recall were probably 747s, L1011s or DC10s. My dad was working in London from when I was 9 months until I was 2.5 and my mom packed me up once or twice a month for a visit. Hmmm maybe I've even been on a 707 - were those still flying NYC to LHR in the mid 80s?

My first flight was back in 1980 .

I was 9 years old by then and remember every and each minute of thet flight - I was so amazed by flying experiance !
Food was amazing with caviar and balik fish served as a starter and then a hot meal of "Beef Stroganoff " .
After Budapest we had a local made MALEV food tray with lots of appetizers and cold cuts and then spicy "Gouliash"Beef .Before landing in Luanda they served us same MALEV tray but with fish and potatoes as a main meal .Crew were very friendly with passengers and specially with kids . I even have somewhere a "First Flight" Certifacate issued by AEROFLOT   .

Feb 14, 1969 on a NW 727-200 ORD-MSP. It was everything I had hoped for an more. At this time I was already working towards my private pilot ticket.

My first flight was on a TWA 767, N607TW, LAX-JFK. I've got the flight number somewhere; I don't remember it of the top of my head. I was nine months old. Here she is about a month before she carried me:

My first flight was on a SAS DC-7C in 1967 ARN-LLA with my mom when I was 10 months old. I don't remember anything of the flight though.

would have to be late 1969 or early 1970 Continental flt 14 LAX-MKC-LAX 707 Golden Jet service what I remember the most is the bag of tootie rolls I consumed both ways. I was 5 just checked the fares for that period looks like $464 each way in todays dollars to fly there and back.

My first flight was 1996. It was DEN-ORD-BOS on a United 757. I was 6 and that is all I can remember of it.
I am a bit younger and don't have all these awesome stories from the good old days of flying. If only...

I was just a couple of months old so I do not remember all the details but it was a JAT B727-200Adv from Belgrade to Pula.
The first I remember was on board Aeroflot's IL-86 from SVO to LCA.

I can't remember my first flight but my parents say that I ran up the aisle and pulled out peoples headphones, it was London heathrow to somewhere in Florida

My First Flight was on a ALOHA BAC-111 HNL to LIH. I was 6 months old, and my Pops worked for them at the time. Wish I could remember it  

My first flight (I think) was when I was roughly 9 months old, so around 1996. It was on a Transavia 757-200, from an airport where boarding was done with stairs (might have been either the inbound or outbound leg, not sure). I have a picture of me on my father's arm, standing at the rear door. Judging from the height difference between the point the photo was taken, and the plane I conclude it was a 757. HV has only operated 752s per Wiki. We were flying to/from somewhere sunny, most likely the Canary or Balearic Islands.

August 1971...I was 17 years old. TWA 747 SFO-JFK

Champion B727. MSP to LAS. Lost 1 engine about 30 minutes after departure, turned around and went back to MSP where we waited for Champion to fly another airplane from Texas to take us to LAS.

American 727 TUS-ORD. Must have been 1977 or 78, age 4 or 5. Connected to a United 737 for ORD-MBS. Tucson didn't have jetways then, so we walked out to the plane. May have boarded through the rear door, but I can't say for sure on that.

Also, my last 727 flight was with AA, from ATL-DFW in September 6, 2001.

Mine was on a private jet that the company my dad worked for owned. I guess he took me on a business trip with him somewhere. (This was in the days when private jets were not considered incredibly wasteful... then again, fuel was a lot cheaper in those days so they probably actually were more cost-effective than flying commercial, if a company could afford the initial outlay.)

Anyway, I have a *vivid* memory of watching the lines on the side of the runway moving as we picked up speed on takeoff, then seeing them suddenly fall away beneath us. And that's the only memory of that flight that I have. I think I was about 3 or 4 years old, and this was about 1975 or 76.

Pretty sure mine were circa 1978 or so and I don't remember which one came first: either ORD-MCO en route to Disney World (a 727-100, I believe) or ORD-MIA-PTP on Eastern (727s on both legs, if I'm not mistaken). I was only a tyke at the time but recall a special kids meal (a hot dog) on the MCO flight and also arriving at PTP late at night and having to walk across the tarmac.

I was 13 when I first flew on an airplane... I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Connected to a flight to EWR later that evening... on a widebody, probably a DC-10 or 767.

My first flight was in October of 1993, on a medical Learjet (probably a 45) from Los Angeles to Atlanta. I was 2 months old and in an incubator, and my mom said that I slept for the whole flight. Apparently everyone on that flight was there because of me (pilots, doctors, nurses, therapist etc.). I was 3 months premature when I was born and needed the utmost of care while flying home.

My very first flight was quite unlike most people's as it was on a rotary-winged airplane, ie. a helicopter. It was a long time ago and my grey cells' recall capacity being not what they used to be, the details are a little blurry but it was sometime in the first half of 1975 when I was a teenager.
Fresh out of an air engineering school, I began to serve at a fighter squadron as a trainee mech. Within a month we shifted location (though still in the same airbase in Changi when it has yet to become the international airport of today) and next to us was a helicopter squadron. The very next day after the move, a colleague (who incidentally happened to be born in the same hospital ward just a few hours before me; so that makes us acquaintances since birth) suggested that we try our luck to hitch a ride on their chopper.
Off we went to their ops room and asked to see the commander, saying we were paying a courtesy call as a new neighbour. Being the brash kids that we were, we came to the point of our visit straight away. The good captain gazed intently at us for what seemed an eternity and chastised us for not knowing our (lowly) place, remarking that not even his own men had ever had the temerity to ask for a joy ride. We were about to apologise and scurry away when he boomed out: "But since you guys are either brave or ignorant and being the first to ask for it, I shall grant you your wish. We have a test flight in the afternoon. Come back after lunch." We were ecstatic. For almost an hour, we were treated to heart-stomping maneuvers including a stomach-churning 1,000ft drop. What a great experience and a rough & tough introduction to the wonderful world of flight.
In my mind, it was a Bell 212 (UH-1N) but when I googled, articles on the web stated that it entered the Singapore Air Force's service only in 1977 and the only whirlybird at that time was the Alouette III. I am sure it was the 212 but how can I argue with the Internet? As I said, my memory isn't what it used to be....
My first fixed wing trip was on Singapore Airlines' Boeing (either 727 or 737) to Thailand in 1979.
Since then I have flown on all the Boeing designed jetliners except the 787, all Airbuses except the A380 and a big bunch of other manufacturers' jets and propeller transports including those from Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, Tupolev, Ilyushin, NAMC, Fokker, CASA, DHC, Short and Cessna.

I first flew when I was just a few months shy of my third birthday. It was the spring of 1995, and, as best I can figure, my parents and I flew NW from GRR to ATL via DTW. Sadly, none of us remembers the type of aircraft, though I'd love to find out.

I do, however, recall being shown up to the flight deck and told that kids got to look in there on their first flights. Even then I thought it was interesting, though I was more taken at that point with my new 'kiddie wings.' After that, I felt so suave for having flown.

My first flight was an a SY 727 from MSP to MCO in 1985 to visit Disney World with my family. I was 8 years old. I remember the plane smelled like cigarette smoke (can't remember if people were actually smoking on the flight or if the smell was left over from previous flights). I now we were served a full meal on a tray that was hot and had an entree, salad and dessert.

The thing I remember most was that the tray tables had the flip down, then flip again design so the "cup holder" was on the bottom of the completely open table but on top when only open half way. At the time, I thought this was the coolest thing ever since it was kinda like a Transformer toy.

It was 1991 and I was 5 years old but can't remember anything regarding the flight. It was an QF flight from CGK-SYD. I was moving there because my father is continuing his study in Australia.

It sure is very unusual for two persons to have "met' at birth and then came together again after almost two decades to go on their (impromptu) first flight together. Barely a few months later, we went our separate ways and have not crossed paths again. Other than the co-incidences of birthplace & time and first flight, we don't have anything in common as he was a gangster and I was then a scholarly type. I heard from a mutual acquaintance recently that he went on to become a pastor whereas I took the path of a monger. How life serve out its twists!
Anyway, enough of subject hijack. This is a great thread for aviation enthusiasts to relive their virgin trip into the air (even if some of us are too young to be aware of and enjoy it). Like the the basic joy of life's act of coition and the partner in it, the first time is always memorable. I can still recollect the details of that maiden flight such as the two aircrew giving us - their only passengers of that sortie - the safety briefing, the PIC turning back with a big grin on his face to blare out into his mic "Fun isn't it?" after executing that sudden 1,000ft altitude drop and then the subsequent touch-n-go hard skimming runs across an empty field. Also, the acute climb & dive angles, the extreme left & right banks with fully opened doors and other death-defying, - safety harness notwithsatanding - maneuvers that almost made us throw out our lunch. After all, that was a test flight we were on.

Probably would have been with Sterling Airways in 1978 from CPH-NCE with a SUD Aviation SE-210 Caravelle.

KLM DC8-63 somewhere in the mid 60ies and within Europe, probably Spain but I was too young to know..

i cant remember what age i was but from memory it was a AN (Ansett-Aeropelican) BEO (Belmont Airport)-SYD on a DH6-Twin Otter.
