Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows why a BA 744 left YQX at 10:28 NST this morning? I did a quick look and didn't see this posted.

It's Speedbird 84, Vancouver-LHR flight diverted just off Greenland. Unconfirmed but it seems to be a Medical diversion.

Thanks NorthStar, it's not often I get to see something like that climbing out over Gander.

Following from the Transport Canada daily occurrence summary:

At 09:45Z, BAW84, Boeing 747-400, enroute from Vancouver (CYVR) to London (EGLL), advised of a medical emergency and requested clearance direct to Gander (CYQX). The flight was cleared as requested.

Thanks Viscount724. Hopefully the passenger is ok. The hospital in Gander is less than 10 minutes drive from the airport so at least that's a good thing about landing there for this reason.
