Switching Airlines In DKR

Sat Jul 06, 2013 2:23 pm

Hello,
I was considering going to Cap Skirring, Senegal. I would take SAA to DKR then switch to Senegal Airlines from DKR to either CSK or ZIG.

How is it transiting in DKR? Do we have to leave the secured area to check in with Senegal Airlines?

Thanks.

You will have to clear customs and immigration in DKR and reclear security as DKR-CSK/ZIG are domestic flights...

BTW, Senegal Airlines is in severe financial crisis and the UN has banned their staff from flying them for safety reasons so you may want to consider other ways of getting there. Senegal also just changed their visa requirements (US citizens now need one) on 01 July, so you may want to look into that...

I appreciate the info.

I had a feeling something was going on when the airline didn't return an email for now 3 weeks.I may even look at going via Europe and hopping on a charter.

Well, this is the case for almost every airline in Africa.....

I don't think there are ANY flights from Europe to CSK or ZIG, so going through DKR is your only option.
Senegal Airlines flights to these destinations are currently operated by Solenta Aviation ATR72-200 ZS-XCB.

I found information about the UN ban in 2011 or 2012, but couldn't find any reports about financial problems. Have you got a source for that?
