Favor - Need Aircraft Registration

Mon Nov 04, 2013 5:23 pm

I'm in the habit of noting the aircraft registration on every flight--got it for every flight I've taken since 2005, except on a couple recently I just couldn't see it from the gate or above the doorway. Could anyone help? (If you know of a website that would be even better!)

N807SK is the other one

Thank you both. On flightaware, how did you go from the flight number/callsign to the aircraft?

I remember your post some weeks/months ago about your search, tried to look for it but couldn't find anything, sorry   Maybe your best bet would be contacting someone from DL...
I feel your "pain", I too have some gasps in my logbook. Will try to post the list later hoping someone can help...

The long way, you just type in the registration and see where it flew on whatever day. Flightaware doesn't have a convenient way of getting the registration of an aircraft on a certain flight.

For US domestic flights, bts.gov might be your best bet -- unfortunately the board does not seem to like that link and keeps screwing up my post. So after repeated attempts to edit my post, I'll just say go to bts.gov -> data and statistics -> by mode -> airlines and airports -> passengers and freight -> US air carrier delays... -> search by flight number, airline or airport, then one of the links under detailed statistics. Caveat is that they only list mainline and flights operated by the bigger regional airlines. You'll need to know which regional operated your Delta Connection flight; it won't be listed under Delta but under the regional airline that operated it.

That being said, does anyone know a way to find reg numbers for international flights from years ago? It looks like Flightradar24 only goes back 12 days, at least for one of the flights I need.

It was N707EV:

For most domestic flights within the US, you can use the BTS.gov website. As yflyer said, there is some problem in directly posting the link, so you can follow his directions. Otherwise, you can just search "bts gov" in Google, and click on the link that says "BTS | Airline On-Time Statistics." From there, click on "Departures", and you'll get to the search web page. They have data from 1995 - 2013.

And just to reiterate what yflyer said, you would need to know the regional airline that operated that Delta flight. A search on FlightStats showed me that DL4916 was operated by Expressjet (EV).

I use the following website:

http://www.acarsd.org/world_ACARS_reports.html

It only goes as far back as 2006. What you do is you click on the month you flew, and then on the specific day and year. You can then download it as a plain text file, and then do ctrl + F to search for the flight you took. That said, I have been about 75% lucky in finding the registrations for my int'l flights.

Thank you very much for your help! What makes me wonder is that according to flightaware, N707EV has not flown since May 30, can this be true? Or is it an error?

Error or just not tracked. Lots of smaller aircraft don't appear on FA even though they are still flying. I checked a few DL CR7 where there are recent photos in the DB but their last flight on FA was many months ago.
