Top 5 Airports Visited

Mon Dec 16, 2013 6:51 pm

Inspired by the ABC of Airports visited poll that is on the go at the moment I delved into my records to see which airports I had visited [i.e. begun or ended a flight] most. Here is my list top 5 domestic airports visited and my top 5 overseas airports. For this purpose I only included those airports where I started or finished a journey and didn't include those where the plane I was on made an intermediate stop but I didn't change plane.

I appreciate that some folks, such as those say living in Luxembourg, might have trouble coming up with a list of top 5 domestic airports whilst those say who live in vast countries such as China and the USA might do huge domestic travels and not a lot of overseas travel - but do join in anyway!

So in descending order of number of times visited

Domestic: LHR LGW GLA MAN EDI

Overseas: AMS CDG MAD BCN GRU

Top 5 domestic:

1. KEF (Keflavik)
2. RKV (Reykjavik)
3. AEY (Akureyri)
4. VEY (Vestmannaeyjar)
5. EGS (Egilsstadir)

Top 5 international:

1. BWI (Baltimore)
2. TPA (Tampa)
3. BOS (Boston)
4. FRA (Frankfurt)
5. LHR (London Heathrow)

My top 5 are probably a bit boring in both domestic and international as those are basically just some of the major airports that FI flies to (international) along with TPA where I fly twice a year. Also, excluding VEY, the top 5 domestic are just the 5 largest airports (if VEY would be replaced by Isafjordur it would be the top 5).

Regards!

Surprisingly i've flown in and out of JFK - New York City and been to MNL - Manila , Philippines more than LGA considering I live in NYC. After JFK and MNL would be Hong Kong International Airport at #3, followed by Seoul Incheon #4 and #5 SFO.

1) YVR

5) EDI

YVR is now by far #1, living in London flights are split between all airports and I have flown from them all incl MSE except SEN.
