Now that the New Year is upon us I thought it perhaps a good time to update everyone's life lists of airports flown to, from or through!

Giving us a total is optional; its not a contest. If you hadn't noticed, on these boards there are those who do it for a living and who can blow us paying passengers out of the water - so long or short, young or old, list (alphabetically, please) your life's airport experience.

Extra credit (a thumbs-up from me!

) : a mention of those airports you added to your list this year.

I added two just this month on a trip through Japan: CTS and FUK, that is, Sapporo's New Chitose Airport and Fukuoka Airport.

CTS is Japan's third busiest airport (according to Wiki) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_busiest_airports_in_Japan
but my experience with it went smoothly on a flight CTS-NRT which connected without hiccup to my Japan-U.S. flight. FUK-HND was an every-seat-taken domestic 777 flight with fine views out the window of both KIX and UKB (Kansai International Airport and Kobe Airport), two off-shore Japanese airports. Fantastic!

I was hoping to fly to number 100 this year, but that'll have to wait until sometime in 2014. Which, as I have just realised, isn't anything to feel sorry about because I've added a whopping 28 airports to the list since January: ACI, ARN, BLK, BRN, BRS, CLT, CWL, DTM, EZE, GCI, IAH, IOM, JAN, JER, LCY, LTN, MAA, MDT, PAD, PHL, POZ, SDL, SEN, SOU, STN, UME, VCE and VLY.

I had no idea it was that many.

Apart from that, my attempt at flying to my first "K" was thwarted by fog at KRF, so we diverted to SDL - my 11th "S". But at least I got some extra time on a BAe ATP out of it, which is going to be history much sooner than airport codes with a K at the start.

A lot of Southern Hemisphere flying there, Andz (as one would expect with a South African flag before his name), more than I'll ever accomplish. Didn't know you had a pilot's lisence, CX! What's your home airport down there?

And to both of you, I know you both were readers of World's Longest...
I never explained the sudden departure for which I apologize but which can be explained in cost and exposure:
I was frustrated with being forced to stay in TPandP while spending quite a sum to maintain the OAG world-wide sub.
And then there was the work involved (hats off to BNOWB - w/o him I wouldn't been able to continue as long as we did).
Anyway, maybe someday, when my real work lessens a bit... I'd love to continue World's Longest!

Those threads were greatly appreciated, but I fully understand the time, effort and cost to keep it running. And with such an ever changing industry, it doesn't take long for a list to go out of date.

Yeah, and they tend to come to you later, even months later. I didn't remember JAX until a couple of years after first writing mine down -no offense Jacksonvillians

Been watching the planes takeoff and land there for as long as I can remember, and finally got the chance to fly in/out of there this summer. Great experience.

Those planes operate only for the tourist season, May-September. The spot doesn't freeze in the winter, there's just no need for the aircraft because there're no tourists. Other floatplanes do fly scheduled passenger flights year round, using amphibious pontoons to take off from the runway at Juneau and fly out to villages that only have water runways, landing on the ice-free channels.

That's what got me: the number of flights that I took in 2013 is exactly the same as 2012 (57), so I never expected to have added that many airports - almost a third of my entire list - in just this one year... food for thought, it really is, so thanks for starting this thread!

I'm up to 259 commercial segments, but my favorite, most exhilarating flight was this past June, when I was lucky enough to fly on FIFI, the CAF's flagship Warbird, the beautiful B-29. The last airworthy B-29 in the world. Nearly 70 years old, but does she sing! What an amazing flight over Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ha, oh, those final places are just airports I merely touched once. Fly in to Kuala Lumpur, fly out of SZB, for example. Thanks I love a good list! Especially airports. I love airports!

Yes, KIX is a nice airport and I did like the ride on the automatic train to go to immigration and customs.
I've also liked the Skyteam loung : not too big but with a wiew on the runway!

One trip was pretty mental and yes, it was Pitt-Greenville. I work in the healthcare industry and we were working on a project for a new hospital with a paperless recordkeeping system. The company we represented recommended Pitt County Memorial as the reference site to visit so off we went.

Tuesday night we left JNB, to SID, ATL, CLT to PGV. We visited the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, then the next morning flew PGV-CLT-EWR... took a taxi to JFK which was a nightmare for time as this was during a huge weather system down the east coast and Verrazano Narrows bridge was closed due to ice falling from the cables. We got to JFK just in time and flew back to JNB on Thursday evening, getting home on Friday.

Correct, those are the three airports that serve Stockholm. ARN is the main international airport combined with SAS and DY's whole domestic operations. BMA only functions as a domestic airport besides a few flights to BRU/HEL/TLL. NYO is the LCC airport.

Besides hitting all Stockholm airports, I have flown through most

LA area airports, LAX, BUR, SNA, ONT, LGB, WHP
SF area airports: SFO, OAK, SJC
NY area airports: JFK, LGA, EWR
DC airports: DCA, IAD, BWI.

Honetsly, I was too lazy to look that up last night. I could have listed Paya Lebar as XSP, if Memory treats me rright. Would cover an additional letter of the Alphabet.

Of course, my log book kept over the years was the base of the list, I think only a.nutters do such crazy things. The list clould have a couple of more Airports but those were not on scheduled Services, like flying in a Cessna from Zahn's Airport across the road from Islip (now a Shopping mall or whatever. The Islip, Newburgh... but I lfet those out.

After several days of looking for everywhere I have visited, I'm still looking into it. I've flown through some 90 airports/airfields but visited at least as many again plane spotting. I'll come back once I have worked it out, but I think it will be in region of another 120-150 airports on top of the ones I have flown through.
