F9 And VX On Same Booking And Checking A Bag

Wed Feb 12, 2014 3:37 am

Apologizes if this was put in the wrong Forum.

I just received a booking from a work travel agency and because it was last minute it is a strange booking. I am flying VX from SFO-LAS and then F9 from LAS-SFO, I have never had non codeshare partners on a reservation. My question is if I check my bag in SFO will they be able to check it through to DEN? Also would you recommend checking a bag on that routing or do you think it would get lost? If it gets lost who would be responsible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

That's dependant on whether or not VX and F9 have an interline agreement. I would call VX reservations to see. If the answer is yes, then I don't think it would be a problem.

Based on my anecdotal evidence as a BSO agent, there do seem to be more problems with interline baggage than baggage that's staying on the same carrier. How long is your layover in LAS? If it's any less than an hour, I wouldn't recommend it.

The claim always gets filed with the last airline on your itinerary - in this case F9.
