UA 767 Or DL 330

Fri Apr 18, 2014 9:19 pm

Will be traveling to Italy and it looks like my options are UA on a 764 or 763, and DL on a 333. I've been on the 330 (when it was NW, don't think it has been updated since), but haven't been on a United 767 in years. How are the seats? How is the IFE? Any annoying boxes at my feet to watch out for?

A good site to tell you about these boxes is:

seatguru.com

They will mention which seats have the boxes so you can avoid them when booking.

Yeah, I am familiar with the site, and that's where I went to first. I'm looking for comparative info not available on it(VOD is there but which is better; which seat is more comfortable, etc) from anyone who might have tried both products.

Thanks.

DL 333!!!
DL has very recently completely revamped the entire 330 fleet with new interiors and bigger PTVs. There is an entire thread on the DL 330 mods in the civil aviation forum.

I know from experience that UAs 764 matches, or even beats any US carriers product in Y. Keep in mind, they have the same interiors as 777s and, at least on UA, have the same hard product in all cabins as the 787 and sCO 777s.
When wasn't America great?

Have you considered AZ? I thought they looked pretty good in some recent trip reports, financial woes aside. I'm considering them for a trip this summer.

There have been eye-opening changes since your last voyage on a NW/DL 333. See them below.

I've flown the UA 763 and 764 recently. The 764 was great, lovely hard product. The 763, nope, not so much, and i'd definately avoid it. I thought the UA crew in general were pretty good. Never tried DL.

Many thanks all! I didn't realize DL had redone the 330 since my last trip. The cabin refresh threads in civ av tend to be long enough and spend enough time on tail numbers I don't bother.

Really? What was wrong with it? Ended up on the -300 on the way over in E+ and was totally satisified. Seats were comfortable enough and IFE was good.
