BOS International Arrivals Are A Zoo Today

Thu Aug 21, 2014 12:59 am

Waiting for family to arrive on LH420. Flight arrived around 7:30, it's now 9PM and they are still not out. The arrivals hall is a total zoo. Is this what terminal E in the Summer always looks like? This is terrible.

Yes, this is par for the course this summer - welcome to BOS!

Today was actually better than most - you should come back when the 6pm-8pm arrivals all show up at 7pm, there are gate holds, passengers held on aircraft, bags overflowing from the carousels, etc. At least this evening they were spaced out for the most part.

Ouch. Yeah, that's what happened. LH420's schedule is 7:50PM. I figured it would be late enough to skip this madness but it arrived half hour early, right into all the chaos. We need more pre-clearance countries

Let it keep up I say! Push the 2nd and/or 3rd tier international down to PVD.

The 200+/hr FIS gate is open for use and the train schedule actually lends itself to TATL times too.
Experience is what you get when what you thought would work out didn't!

How could PVD support nonstop service to 2nd and 3rd tier European cities?

Is the problem lack of staffing or at BOS, the number of arrivals and number of passengers simply overwhelming the physical facility?

In those international airports where things are jammed due to staffing, the feds need to get off their *** and post up to the physical limits of the facility. BOS might simply be "full" which means airlines need to consider adjusting their arrivals.
