Traveling On Ethiopian Via ADD

Thu Oct 02, 2014 7:07 am

Hello everyone,

I will be flying on ET for the first time on an upcoming trip and connecting flights through ADD. I'll be arriving in ADD on a Q400 about 8 pm and departing just after midnight on a B788.

Was just curious: what is the in-flight service like (cabin, food/beverage) and what is there to do in ADD airport during my layover?

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Cross757

I've flown four times with ET Q400 back in july this year. Can't speak of the 788 though.

Addis Ababa airport is by African standards quite satisfying, free high speed WIFI, an okay restaurant, a few shops and a lounge. Plenty of reclined chairs in the departure hall, friendly staff and ground personel.

Service onboard the Q400 is limited toa glass of juice and (depending on time of day) a sandwich   the all coach cabin is in fine shape and can easily be compared to western standards.

However, don't be surprised if several passengers are booked onto the same seat! :P

I have flown 4x on ET 788s . Try and get a bulkhead seat in Y. I thoroughly enjoyed my flights. the Cloud 9/Gold lounges are ok and 4h would not be unreasonable (especially considering terminal change involved. ). I guess I should get around to posting my trip reports sometime...

I certainly would fly ET egain.
