Worst Cabin Color Scheme You Have Seen?

Fri Nov 14, 2014 5:15 pm

I was wondering, if any cabin color scheme comes to mind to you as the worst, what would it be?

The worst I have seen was DL's autumn color scheme on the 762s and most domestic 763s, with seats of various shades of red, orange, and tan. That color scheme was awful and I am glad DL got rid of it in the late 1990s. I also heard that DL had this same color scheme on the business class section of its L-1011-500s in the 80s.

Easily the worst in recent years... But I wonder what the worst current one is? Transavia perhaps?

You can lock this thread now. Nothing will beat that Wardair cabin.

And the scary part ... that cabin is tame and muted compared to Ward's A310s!!!

Mr. Ward always said that your vacation starts when you enter my airplanes, and he was true to his word, they certainly were festive!
Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!

All it would take is for passengers to dress as clowns and you have the flying circus.

Seriously, that is the most hideous color scheme ever.

For me, MH takes the award.

I flew their old A330s out of Chennai/Delhi to KUL on many occasions. Right around mid-night, already tired and sleepy, I would walk into a cabin that was painted in disturbing red, looking like this:

One might squint eyes, and wonder if these aren't too bad. Then, you'd have to see how tired the cloth/fabric is in real and add that to the perspective on the cabin.

Never really liked it ... and never cared for their poor standard of service either.

Just to back up my point with pictures...

Transavia used to have this:

... and then changed to the slightly less vomit-inducing:

I like a colorful cabin. Who says everybody has to like only blue or gray?

Well, I would love to see pink leather seats on DL's pink 764ER, but it won't ever happen unfortunately.

I actually find that OS cabin to be quite nice looking. Love the color scheme.

I loved the colors in the old OS Business. Now it's grey, like everyone else.

They still have the "teal" on the Fokkers.

I agree - blue and grey are lowest common denominator/trying not to offend anybody color schemes. In the old days, movies and TV shows would show that kind of color scheme as part of a dystopian future. And that part of it, at least, seems to have actually come to pass...

I remember United in the early 80's had an orange and brown color scheme; I think that was the blue/grey of its day. Everybody thought warm tones like orange and brown were the "safe" colors in the late 70's and 80's.
