I read somewhere recently that MIA has the second most European carriers in the United States after JFK so I am curious
as to why Austrian Airlines does not serve MIA? Have they served MIA in the past?

As for Miami, I assume it's because of either a lack of demand or a lack of equipment. It's not a route that would strike me as being low-yielding, so I don't think that would be it.

Because OS has enough trouble, without starting a new International route to a non-allied hub.
Besides, with LH having an A380 on the route, and also connections over IAD and EWR, why should OS start it. More important things to worry about.
